So often I check if a guy's steamrep and see that he has unconfirmed reports. Sometimes just one but sometimes 6+. How are these people not steamrep banned? The proof was there for many of these guy's.

Also it seems the moderators aren't allowed to ban and all they do is ask for more info or unedited screenshots.

So why aren't mods allowed to ban and why are people with 6+ reports still unbanned?

We do prioritize accounts with multiple pending reports. And if a user decides to risk a trade with someone that has 6 pending reports then... well.... you get the idea.

Mods cannot ban because they are only mods, they may not know all aspects of SRs policies or have access to the same resources the admins have (for verification of information and such). They do however preform a specific task within SR to make sure reports have enough information for an admin to process, this in turn makes the admins job easier and reports accepted faster. We have floated the idea but a "super" mod would essentially be a "junior" admin anyhow, its easier to just train up existing mods to become admins then just have some low level "super" mods who could tag and that pretty much be it. (the time they spend being a mod helps in the long run to learn the workings of SR if they want to eventually be an admin and move into different rolls)
