    Hello everyone,

I'd like to request that my SR CAUTION tag be removed. This scarlet letter was given to me for trading with the now infamous Homeyhomedawg (http://steamrep.com/search?q=homeyhomedawg) in June of 2012. I've maintained a clean trade history since then and have tried to keep all scammers off my friends list since I dropped him. I was banned from sourceop due to my caution tag this past December, a year and a half after the caution was given to me, but have maintained 6 pages of 100% positive feedback up to that point (www.sourceop.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=52978).

I friended homeyhomedawg when he only had a SOP Caution tag (http://steamrep.com/profiles/765611...d2ef5afb963d9d17fd3eb31691954225&t=1335650237) and did several trades with him and considered him trustworthy when it came to me and him dealing.

When the TC trade came around I saw the hat via tf2unusuals.com and immediately started negotiating with him for the hat with a number of my sunbeams hats for that sunbeams hat. I did know that it was a dupe but wasn't very concerned. It wasn't for another nearly two months when I realized that I had been marked for this trade and didn't understand the mechanics of SR otherwise I never would have traded with the homedawg for this hat. I thought that SR was basically guidance for trading with another person, ie, if he has warnings or scamming tags you should be extremely cautious about dealing with this person. Because of my prior dealings with him, I trusted him to not scam me. Because I was trading exclusively hats, I knew that I would see the trade completely in steam prior to making it so I trusted the system not to scam me. I never knew that SR had auto tagging or some tracking in the background that would automatically tag me if I traded with the person and was very surprised when I found my tag.

The trade occurred 6 days after my first born child came into the world and frankly my brain wasn't on straight at that time due to lack of sleep. I saw the hat, I wanted it and I pursued a trade. This isn't an excuse but an explanation of my mental state at the time. If I actually thought I would get this blemish I would have never pursued that deal. It never occurred to me that anything beyond the shiny would come my way and I have regretted it ever since.

I would like to request to have this tag removed as I have maintained very clean trades before and after this one trade. I have worn the tag and completed many many transactions with zero issues with all at the time reputable people and zero scammers. I have dealt with the warning tag but feel that it is time to lose it.

I appreciate your consideration in this appeal.

    -Joe

Just go ahead and close this. I'm getting out of the trading anyway so I don't need to waste anyone's time.
