Hi,
I've played tf2 on and off for some years. Just recently while trying to liquidate my assets for steam marketable items, most of which I have sold to top up my steam wallet, I noticed that I had been marked as a scammer at some point ( flags on trade servers), I had never previously heard about steamrep although I received a random permanent ban on the tf2 trading post for scamming about 2 years ago and perhaps the two are linked? I still have no idea why I received that ban.

On steamrep I am listed as a scammer by ASBO,UTC and SR. I have made an appeal to UTC, which I again, have no Idea what I have been marked a scammer for.

ASBO aparently doesn't exist anymore and i was told to post here so I thought i'd merge my ASBO and SR apeals.

Reason banned: According to steamrep I'm a scammer and my offence is being an alternate account. Neither is true. The account I'm accused of being an alt of is one I have never heard of, as far as I know I have never traded with them or talked to them. Both accounts have similar hours in the same games, not to mention I only have a Mac which I have had some success running wine on, so I have minimal hours of windows only games, unlike the account I'm accused of being an alt of. Also, the actual scammer account is apparently still active, as am I.

Reason to be un-banned:
As far as I know I have never committed an offence worthy of the title scammer. I don't know how this whole tag ban thing works, but the different tags are probably all for the same offence. I would like to be unbanned, however if there is some other offence that I am accused of I would like to hear about it to see whether it was me and I actually deserve this ban.

I should add, my offence is listed as 1. see alts. The linked accounts offence is scamming during a trade with some other guy. Don't know how I could have been implemented as being part of that...
Also, after reading someones appeal, no that account could not have logged in from the same IP as me, unless of course it was at my school and one of the hundreds of people that log onto steam using the schools internet owns that account.

Hence you may find questions in subsequent posts by the admin that is investigating the appeal, please answer ALL of the questions, for a admin will only start the background investigation once those questions have been answered.

This message indicates the change to "under investigation" of your appeal. Only AFTER this will the admin start processing the appeal. Hence questions may not be asked the same day, but generally within a week (no guarantee) in this appeal topic.

You should reply on this to indicate you are checking the appeal regularly if no questions where asked by the appeal admin (yet).

The reason to close such is to keep things moving once a admin has done its due diligence to complete the required appeal information, and lessen the pile of open appeals. We cannot personally contact each appealer via steam or otherwise to ask them to respond on their appeal, due the volume of such.
The reason why the background check is only done after responding is to keep moving in appeals, and not have research work done when that had no merit (minimizing workload). There are enough other appeals that didn't lose their interest of trying to appeal, which then can be served faster this way.

Non-responsiveness by the appealer means for the admin that the appeal can be regarded as "loss of interest" and no re-appeal will be granted. This appeal will then be set Invalid, and archived.
