I found cereal&milk over tf2outpost, claiming that he was willing to buy hats for Paypal money as long as the seller would agree to go first or use a middle man of his choice. He seemed to check out as he had a few allegedly successful trades in the past and was not marked anywhere. I offered him my Smoking Dapper topper for $45 dollars, he agreed and added me moments afterwards (screenshot below, trade is http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/4852705#p19927739).

I went first as agreed, but afterwards my paypal balance remained at $0.00 and no recent activity showed him sending the money as we had discussed. There is a screenshot I took of my paypal history below, confirming this. He said that it would take time for it to show up in my account, and that he would stay in my friendslist until I made sure I had the money. I told him that if he were to supply evidence (email, screenshot, etc.) that he had in fact sent it, then we could possibly go to paypal for answers, but he never did so and eventually removed/blocked me. So here I am.

Very shortly afterwards, he had already sold the hat to customURL (http://steamcommunity.com/id/ShablagooAP/), whom I went and personally added. Shablagoo revealed to me that he was sold the hat by cereal&milk for $35, lower than what cereal&milk claimed to have paid me for it. Screenshots of this conversation are below. This more than anything shows him to be guilty, pawning off in such a short time span what he claimed to have paid a higher price for.

I hope I provided the necessary amount of evidence, unfortunately since the scammer did not remove me outright the original conversation over steam was lost. If there is any other proof I must show I'll try to the best of my ability.

Please provide a screenshot of your inventory history to where it shows you traded the item to him.

Update: cereal&milk added me back and explained how the whole thing was a misunderstanding, how something went wrong with the payment and how he'd promise to pay me back in due time. will keep this thread updated, screenshot of the conversation is below:

There's me shooting my mouth off. :3 I'm helping Chef out, because I was planning on selling my O. Fire Hotrod to the same guy, but I obviously don't want to trade with him if he's a scammer. I added Cereal and had a talk with him, he did seem concerned with the way that things went, but gave no excuse as to why it happened, either it is all a big misunderstanding, or cereal is trying to cover his ass. If the admins could keep this thread open, it would be appreciated, I love to lurk

Update: talked to Cereal, it seems he has a bit of money issues right now, making payment a bit slow. It all seems to pan out. It is a possibility that I may be buying an unusual from him via paypal sometime late this week or early next week, so he can pay back what he owes to Chef Miguel, so if the admins could hold off on any marking until at least then, it would be appreciated. Sorry for the rapid influx of stuff from me, just seeing this through to the end, trying to move up as a trader and all ^^

hey guys yes this is a very suspicious thing! i agree! at first i thought he was trying to get me to pay twice but i see that was not the case!.. (i got scammed 3 times to many) i am waiting until i sell some unusuals(to johnny cakes) and i will pay him RIGHT AWAY!!!! also i cleared up the Bonana situation as well REALLY didn't want anything of this sort to happen!

Paying someone back after you scammed them doesn't make it right.
