I'm appealing a ban that started via http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198062913390.39805/#post-119150 The victim slowhand received a phishing link in chat via my profile. However, before this had happened I received a friend request from this user http://steamcommunity.com/id/74437342327435845 I clicked on the profile to see who it was and it ended up having the same name and avatar of a friend who was on my friend's list previously, I assumed it was him creating an alt to play other games on or create items in SDK considering the friends list was continually growing each time I refreshed the page, so I assumed it was my friend and accepted the friend request. Shortly after the scammer had messaged me with the "hey have you seen what was written about you on the forum?" line from Slowhand's picture in his thread, being 2 am and groggy and genuinely curious I clicked on the link failing to see it was a phishing link which immediately logged me out of steam. I then checked the chat bar with open eyes to see it was a fraudulent link, I opened my normal browser and tried to log onto my account via Steam's website but was unable to. I immediately sent a ticket to Steam Support telling them my account had been hijacked sending them the steam profile link to the person who added/chatted with me (img below) after that I decided the best thing to do was to sleep it over and see if anything changed in the morning. When I woke up and tried to log onto Steam I was able to, I checked my question on Steam Support expecting a saviour's message but was surprised when I saw nothing. I changed my account password and email password after and went trying to see what he took/did to my account while he had access to it. I viewed my trading history (img below) to see that numerous TF2 vintage items, Steam Emotes and couriers from DotA 2 had been traded to the account name GearCarfen (profile http://steamcommunity.com/id/7326453872543785698). I checked the time to see it was 3:24 when the items were traded, shortly after I had been logged out of steam via link, my thought was that this was the person who had added me's alternate account. The profile was set to private and still is so I have no way of confirming the connection but my most valuable items traded away to an account I've never heard of while I was logged out of steam? It definitely set off an alarm and I knew it had to be his alt. An evidence (img below) shows that at 3:25 am the scammer who had just traded my items away at 3:24 am sent a message to my friend Ymir trying to perform the same scam. My point being in this appeal, the person added me, sent me the link, I clicked on it to be logged out of steam and unable to log back in until the morning after, traded my items away to his private alternate account and then tried to scam numerous people on my friends' list including Slowhand who reported my account of phishing because of a message he received from the scammer who was logged onto my account at the time. Thank you for reading, any help that I receive to remove my mark as a scammer is greatly appreciated.
