He had no chance though 'cause I'm experienced and not noobish (maybe in this case). He mentions the huntsman is worth 1 rec and that he got the prices off the tf2 spreadsheet (implying he knows the prices). Description: Guy named Mr Klutch sends me a request on a trading server asking for my strange huntsman. Now, I thought I'd mess around a bit and see if he was a shark, so I acted like a noob (because what noob has a strange huntsman, right?). I asked him what it was worth, and like any good shark would do, led me in the wrong direction. "1 REC". So, I then told him I'd quit tf2, that he'd add me, and that I'd re-trade (so I could get my snipping tool out and ready). Now, he knows his prices - he said he got the price off the spreadsheet. This was clearly an amateur shark attempt. I then let me know this was a scam attempt, and he flipped me off and unfriended me.
That really is too bad. Sharking is a huge part of scams every week. Sharks could at least get some kind of mark, but maybe not a full fledged 'SCAMMER' Mark.
Actually, SteamRep reserves the right to mark for sharking in specific cases. I think Duskfall is confused a bit because we have two of our sister communities handle all of our sharking reports because we are so swamped here with scam reports. So we have Mann Co Trading and AceFortress handle our sharking reports- please post at one of those two forums. They have admins who are trained in researching sharking reports and they handle all of the sharking cases for us. Thank you!
