I am against this appeal. I was duped by him and his history and traded for a bunch of unusuals that went from un duped to duped because of him after the trade. Relying on his word, I had traded with him only to have him a week later say "yep I did it ban me" I got a ban at bp.tf over his BS. I feel that if given the chance he will do it again with out hesitation. My ban was lifted on appeal, however I am down significant value to what I had originally trade him for. In short my ban appeal at bp.tf is as follows - the pics as I no longer have them posted at the listed adress

    "To whom it may concern,

I am writing this appeal in order to have my name cleared. As stated in my site ban, I have been banned for “selling lots of unusuals from a marked scammer”. Indeed the person is a marked scammer, though marked 2 weeks after the trade and 1 year after the initial report was made on them. I had no knowledge that he had tried to scam, in fact given the transcript of the report on him, it seemed to me at the time that the conversation was legitimate, with the “scammer” ultimately backing down from the trade itself and no loss by the reporting party, as I will point out in greater detail later.

The marked scammer was not marked through investigation on the part of Steam rep, rather through admission on the part of said scammer two weeks after we had concluded business. Listed below is the conversation captures I have for the trade in question. Please note that the multiple unusuals came from one trade and one trade only

    The offender’s sr report

    http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198066478249.42793/

The marked offender has since, picked up a second report that does not include anything relevant to this appeal or happenings now and is due to egregious conduct perpetrated well after we concluded our dealings.

Of note in his original complaint that was filed on September 4th 2013, the offender states that he has received a large amount of money for his birthday and wished to spend it on his dream hats as seen in

    Conversation snapshot 1

    http://forums.steamrep.com/attachments/chat-1-png.25703/

    In conversation snapshot 2

    http://forums.steamrep.com/attachments/chat-2-png.25704/

The offender states that it is birthday money again and is uncomfortable with sending money first in order to gain the hats. The offender also states that he is uncomfortable with using MM as they have run on him before and is unsure of using them now. He then begins to back out and say that he is paranoid and does not want to do the trade. While hindsight is 20/20, it did seem to me to be valid reasons to back out of the deal and that the complainant had written the report in an attempt to get back at the offender. As seen in conversation snapshot 3 at the top

    http://forums.steamrep.com/attachments/chat-3-png.25705/

The complainant states after the offender has backed out of the deal “well you leave me no choice but then to report you for a scam attempt…” The question I had at this point was this. Is the seller trying to bully the buyer into a sale so that they are not marked a scammer? The chat snapshots do not show trade invites or call invites that the reporter says happened. When I have been invited to trade or for a call it has shown in the chat box of the person I was speaking with. If this had been significant to the case I felt that there would have been recorded proof in the conversation window. Again later in this same snapshot the seller is willing to “forgive and forget” if the buyer follows through with the sale.

It seemed to me at the time that the offender had the money to do it but had some genuine concerns over how the transaction would take place and ultimately backed out because they were uncomfortable with it. Keep in mind this report happened a full year before we traded, with 0 reports since that time on scamming. SR had a full year to do an investigation and mark them as a scammer. Given the length of time since the initial report, SR’s lack of response and the overall beat of the conversation I did not feel this person was or would be a scammer.

Then comes two weeks after our trade, where the offender states that they did indeed try to scam the original reporter of their items… In a sense I was scammed as well. I honestly thought this person was legit and had no idea that they would confess just two weeks later. I was certainly fooled and had apparently read the conversation’s between him and the reporter the wrong way.

I would also like to point out that to the best of my knowledge none of the items I trade him for were stolen by him or anyone he might have traded with. There are no reports on the offender listing any of the items we exchanged.

In conclusion, I believe that my ban is in error and a little bit of research on the part of the admin who banned me would have shown that the trade occurred two weeks before he was marked. Again, marked only for his admission of guilt (a full year later) and not through an investigation on the part of Steamrep. None of the items traded are linked to him through theft or deceit, nor was it my intention to to willfully trade with a scammer(again, not marked at the time of the trade) That being said, I believe that I have provided enough evidence to clear my name and would like the ban removed immediately.

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Clyde"

I am reasonably certain I can find those pics once more.

    Hello @ᴾᴾᴹ+ARG+,

Your appeal has been reviewed and it has been rejected for the following reason(s):

    - Change of heart is not a valid reason to overturn a serious ban within the trade community
    - Steamrep does not, by policy, grant change of heart appeals for real world currency-related offences

Despite your appeal being rejected, it's recommended that you avoid future situations that might appear to be fraud with Steam trading. Sometimes people reported to Valve by its users can get their accounts trade banned by Steam Support.
