Don't trust anyone who only has rep on their profile. Profile rep is meaningless. Typically anything on their profile is meaningless to determine if someone is trustworthy, though obviously there can be hints that someone is not trustworthy such as low level, game hours etc.

How to not get scammed:

Buy/sell for keys only. Buy/sell keys for bitcoin, either through an automated service or only where the other person goes first.

High level isn't even an indicator of trust. I have recently had impersonators with profiles level 100 and higher.

I retain my statement and always will. Higher level may appear to be a deterrent, it might also appear to be more trust worthy to some people, BUT in the end it means nothing.
Every interaction you have with another trader should always be on edge. Double check all information and act upon it with great care. If using a middleman, double, hell triple check that the information lines up. Patience is a virtue, and it will keep you from getting scammed.
