READ ME HOWTO: Appeal SCAMMER and CAUTION reputation tags

Note: SteamRep directly handles appeals for SR SCAMMER, SOP SCAMMER, and SOP CAUTION. Other tags must appeal to the respective community that marked them.

If you possess any of the tags above in addition to other community tags you must appeal with the other communities FIRST before appealing here. Appeals which do not follow this will be marked automatically INVALID.

Additional notes: UHC Closed down August 15, 2011. Most if not all admins went over to UTC, and they handled the appeals till 3 months after UHC closed down. After which they could no longer use google cache to see topics on UHC anymore. Also, UHC tags are being re-tagged to UTC. Any ban before Juli 21st is considered UHC, and above linked topic is effective. Between Juli 21st and August 15, its dependent of where the ban originated, if it is UHC, then above linked topic will still be in order.

Appeal Process:

1. Prepare for appeal. Read the Appeal FAQ and ensure you meet the requirements. (For example, your profile must be public.)
2. Submit appeal to the forum. (Forum Link)
   • Only SR, SOP, and ABSO tags allowed.
   • Use proper format. All appeals must be posted on the forums in the appeal section using the format described below (see Appeal Format).
   • Attach all evidence! You must post all information and screenshots that you think may help you in your appeal. You will not be able to edit your first post after it is made, so make sure you include everything you think will help. There is a limit in the number of attachments per post, its OK to use subsequent posts to add more. Or make remarks on corrections to it. (you can only edit the post within a very short time of a minute or 2)
   • Make sure your Appeal thread is "Watched" (visible button on top right of the topmost post)
3. Admin reviews evidence. After your post is made, an appeals admin will review everything that you posted.
4. Admin requests more info
   • More info? The appeals admin may request additional information over the forums, or if the appeals admin deems the case complex, they may contact you via Steam messenger for an interview and investigation.
   • Provide info quickly.
     • Stay communicative. Keep an eye on your SteamRep forum inbox and "Watch" for email notifications.
     • When an appeals admin requests information over the forums and you do not respond to the appeals admins' request within 1 week, your appeal will be denied or marked invalid.
     • Review the Vacations and Offline process if you will be away.
5. Optional 1-on-1 interview
   • For clarification: This is only available when the forum appeal is set to "under investigation", and the Admin deems it necessary/wanted.
   • If the appeals admin is processing the appeal via the forum, you may ask for a personal interview and investigation from the appeals admin at any time before the appeals admin rules on your case. The interview process may take up to four hours over multiple sessions.
   • If you request an interview, your case may be reassigned to another admin. If reassigned, your appeal will be placed into a queue. Cases are handled in the order received in these queues-- it is not uncommon for queued interviews to be delayed for many weeks.
6. Decisions are final. Decisions will be rendered by the SteamRep admin once they receive ample evidence or once you fail to respond to them via the SteamRep forums within one week.

Appeal Text Format:

1. Create a new thread titled with steamID64 YourName (*your tags here*) in the Appeals forum. Once a mod admin sees it, it will be moved by them to the correct subforum of the Processing Appeals.
2. Copy your info block pasted from http://steamrep.com -- like this:
   
   (tip: you can click the "copy info" link to the right of it, and use CTRL-V on the forum)
3. Attach all evidence of your innocence for consideration. See the Appeals Process for more background.
