He refused to go first so I decided since he had at least enough hours in TF2. I traded him a Steaming Sultan. I went first and gave him the hat. A bit later he said something about people impersinating him and left the chat. He removed me as a friend and I never got a payment.

Are you sure you didn't clicked on the link he gived to find the profile of the scammer?

AND be sure to leave your cursor on the nickname of the one who traded you, so we can follow the link that lead to the scammer.

Because it's maybe an impersonator and you maybe got fooled by clicking on his link to take his infos... and he can be a scammer too anyway, that's why seeing the link of the profile that give you in trade history could be helpful.

Maybe by posting the skial link of the real one he may think most people will click the link and take the info from here INSTEAD of viewing the profile of the current person they traded with?

Nevermind, put the cuistor on his nickname like i said and post a screenshoit that show the URL at the bottom of thre browser.

I'm really interested ionto which profile it links to since you have a (2) beside the nickname in the trade.

Can you post the screenshot with the cusrover over the nickname in ionventory so we can see where it's link to?

In the future, please do not trade with anyone if they have a number in brackets after their name on steam. Be very careful that you are dealing with the real user and not an impersonator.
