    What happened? Description:
    Very silly of me, was desperate to get rid of one of my unusuals that I had been impatient in selling, needed some money so thought I'd check to see if there were any buyers. This guy linked his steam rep etc, had a few pages of decent comments on his steam profile, so I decided to take the leap of faith so to speak and trade him my unusual with the promise of $35 paypal. I traded him and then of course, the classic, deleted from his friends, switched profile to private and changed his steam username.

    Summed up in short - Drent Barrett "Stelland" at the time of trading, scammed me for a Dead Presidents Buccanneer's Bicorne and 16 ref. Even though I have no chance of receiving the items back I thought I should report him.​

    Proof that was the guy, not just someone with the same avatar.

    The trade of what went into his inventory and what came into mine.

    Unfortunately I can't see his inventory as he switched his profile status to private immediately after the trade, however you can see clearly in the last picture that the trade went through.​

    I did not know this post was here until now ( me trying to get back into trading ) I got a screenshot of my paypal transaction a long time ago.
    The problem is I paid him in euros which converts into less dollars than what he wanted. However the deal was I pay fees etc and he didn't think it would end up with less dollars.
    Thus resulting in him a bit frustrating over losing a few dollars.

    Hello @Drent Barrett, please provide:
    -Screenshot of the paypal receipt - showing the details of the payment in question (Click Details next to the payment) -in full screen, displaying the url bar and without cropping anything;
    -Screenshot of your inventory history:

    1º-Open the Steam by double clicking the steam icon in the tray in lower right corner of your screen.
    2º-On top left, open menu "Steam" and select "Settings".
    3º-On the new Settings dialog box, select "Interface" and enable the tick in front of "Display Steam URL address bar when available".
    4º-Click "OK" to close the Steam Settings dialog, applying the setting.

    Making the screenshot:
    -In the Steam Browser, go to your Inventory, by clicking your Nickname in the top middle and selecting "Inventory"
    -On top right, click the "More" button that is shown above the game labels for the various inventories you have, and select "View Inventory History".
    -Seek the trade that relates to this on the number of pages you have (look below for the requirements).
    -Go to the start menu and type in the seek box "snipping", you will find in Vista and later the "Snipping Tool", click it to start it. It directly wants to make a screenshot. Select the full window excluding the very top of the steam browser window where your LOGIN name is shown. But INCLUDE the Nickname, the steam URL bar fully, both sides and full bottom of the steam browser.
    -Click the "Diskette" icon, or click "File" and then "Save As...", and save it to your desktop.
    -Come back here and make a reply.
    -Drag the image into the reply on the forum from the desktop.
    Requirements of the screenshot(s):
    -Exclude the Login name and steam wallet amount that is on the very top right.
    -MUST show the Steam URL in top left.
    -MUST show the NICKNAME in top middle.
    -MUST show the Steam window fully from left side to the right side of the window.
    -MUST show the related trade from the day before to up to at least 2 days after the trade or current date if that is earlier.
    -MUST show to the bottom of the steam browser window.
    -You are NOT to edit the screenshot, and NOT to blank out anything.

    Wow, I didn't know this was still under investigation after 2 years haha. It hurts how much of a complete lie that response from Drent Barrett is though, lol. Given that hes tracked this thread down and decided to lie, i feel I may as well try to finally get him after all these years.

    Here is a screenshot of my paypal activity in 2015 for 1st to 10th May (the scam took place on 8th May) - as you can see, nothing, not Euros or USD like he says lol.

    also just FYI the hat had a nametag so it appears on the inventory screen as 'purple drank beard's money maker' so just to clarify, here is the mouseover of it.
