What happened? Description:

Fake Invoices from Paypal that look very real. I am not the only one that he did this to. I was contacted by another individual whose information I have included.​

I am providing screen captures of everything include that of another victim.

This includes chat logs, trade logs and a copy of the fake invoices from two people he scammed.​

A bit of an update. Including myself there are three people that this individual scammed over the last couple of days.

Just after filing this report the individual below contacted me, and returned one of my items because he was disgusted by the behaviour of his friend. Apparently this individual was distributing items he had scammed from people to his friends.

He returned my Hustler's Hallmark and I believe returned an Unusual to Jim Carrey. We were both grateful for his act of conscience and good character.

Find attached my PayPal records for May June and July.

I found one of he stolen Items in this person Backpack. It is the Australium Sniper Rifle that was scammed from Jim Carrey. He is in the friends list of JinX (Quiet Sound ;c) 76561198045846031
The Rifle Also appears to have the Professional Killstreak Sniper Rifle Kit /w Cereberal Discharge and Team Shine that was stolen from me applied to it

I believe I have found the perpetrator of these frauds. I am attaching images that show the trail of items.

In the screen capture of Slurpees entire Backpack you can see that it has been recently made private but in the capture of the cache from Backpack.tf you can see Spartan Trex's Black Box. I have attached the detailed history of that item too.

I feel that I need to state in this that I purchased the aussie sniper rifle for 140$ paypal, Jim Cary did get in touch to me about this, but the pure fact is I purchased the item from a scammer. At the time I didn't know the man was a scammer and the transaction went through. He didn't have very much so he went first I then sent the paypal. I talked to Jim and he pointed out that I have a expensive backpack, and that It wouldn't matter to me if I had to give up the sniper, this may be true. But I want to prove a point, even though this was scammed, which I am sorry about, I had to pay money for this, If I where to be rebated then I would kindly give back the item, but until that happens, which is doubtful since steam doesn't deal with transaction outside of the market. I do want to also state that originally I did check Bucky's steam rep and yesterday mid day to afternoon he had no reports so I had no reason to believe the item was scammed

I do feel bad about this so I may just give back the item its just the pure fact that I will lose a decent amount of money because of it

He returned this to me and he seems like a really good kid who wanted to do the right thing.

I mentioned in my report that one of the stolen items was on this account Eternal 76561198068334298
I have spoken with Eternal and he has very generously returned the Sniper Rifle to Jim Carrey, its rightful owner.
Apparently he was scammed too but has recovered his money from Paypal by using the Payback feature.

It was very kind of him to do this. Thank you.

I had a long conversation with Paypal today and was told that they are aware of this type of fraud and they are extremely concerned about this specifically.

I was bumped up to a Fraud Investigations Agent and she has opened a case file. She told me that she will be able to identify the individual that owns the Paypal account that sent these invoices and that they are going to take action (both criminal and civil) against them. She is also contacting Valve (which they apparently do fairly often) to see if they can help identify the individual(s) involved. It is now a criminal matter and those holding stolen items are going to be identified.
