What happened? Description:

NOTHING OF VALUE WAS LOST - I HAVE NOT BEEN SCAMMED, ONLY AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE ON MY ITEMS

First post so let me know if I'm doing something wrong, technically I'm not a victim since nothing was taken or scammed but I feel like this is still a shitty move on the alleged scammer's part.

Selling my scout unusual, I bump my trade on outpost and after a few minutes this person adds me. We talk about price, they seem interested in my asking price and are going to go buy the keys to make this happen. Then they start getting cagey, asking to see if the hat was duped. I linked them the outpost trade (that he must have already seen, it's the only place I have it for sale so far) which has links to both the Outpost hat history and the backpack.tf hat history. They say they've already checked both of those, now do I have a personal friend online? I get a sneaking suspicion right when that message pops up that this is one of those "trade it to my friend and the scammer copies my profile, meanwhile my friend trades it back to me but it's really The Scammer acting as me and I lose the hat" scams, but I play along for a little bit. Then I went looking at this guy's SteamRep profile after the phishy behavior surfaced and now I want to report this since it isnt the first time he's tried this looking at the other reports. He's still on my friends list but hasn't responded yet, the full chat log is below.

more evidence: His profile has several comments that were all marked as "+rep positive message here" from different profiles all within the same hour, so he's either a godly trader and I'm wrong or faking +rep comments. Also in the time it took me to write all this up his name changed from Lego House to LF>>> Karambit, could be nothing but


Proof 1 and 2 are the same screenshot since I made the window big enough, Proof 3 is his profile after clicking on his name in chat.

AG.tugboat: It's 1.7 buds, not duped, if you don't want it without your little parlor tricks then that's fine.
AG.tugboat: Hell i'd even trade your keys back to you if you were unsatisfied with it if we traded straight up
AG.tugboat: by the way, this is a good way to get marked as a possible scammer

This looks to be an attempt at the "friend"scam. And since he has several other reports for the same offence I would say that he was trying it on you also.
