    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulant behavior
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198076331818

    Victim profile: 76561198080953509

    What happened? Description:
I listed an unusual (Terror-Watt Conquistador) on outpost. Pretty soon after, I got a friend request from this guy (Black Ghost <3). He said he wanted to buy my unusual. I told him the price and he said that he needed to check if the hat was 'bugged' or not. This seemed quite suspicious to me, but he said all he needed me to do was trade my at to a trusted friend. I couldn't see any problem with this, but it was really late at the time and I wanted to sleep on it. I said I had to go and he seemed almost angry.

The next day I came online and he asked if I was ready to do the trade. When my close friend ([RGTS]Fiery Skies, who I had know for years in real life and would NEVER scam me) came online, we said we would do it. I was super cautious because I was aware of scammers and made sure to always question anything he asked me. The only reason I went ahead with the trade was that I was trading my friend and I figured that there was no way he could get the scam of me. I opened a trade window with my friend and I asked him in skype to type some personal questions that only we would know into the trade chat. It checked out so I sent him the hat. I went through the confirmation email with a fine comb and once again, it checked out. I accepted and so did he (I didn't tell the Black Ghost that I when I was doing the trade, just in case he intersected it somehow).

After we had both accepted (and checked through) the email, Black Ghost asked me if I was done trading yet. I said yes and then he said 'Ok. Checking' we I assumed meant he was checking if the hat was 'bugged' or not. I asked what he was checking just to make sure. He then went offline. This made me feel pretty scared. I asked my friend to send me the hat back over skype (voice chat). He opened a trade and after a brief pause said: 'It's gone dude!'. This made me very angry more than anything, because I knew he was acting suspicious and I should have just bailed out, but he had 2 years on steam and was a level 12. He had lots of +rep's on his page and, most importantly, I was trading with my friend! If this is a scam, I'm scared that this could happen!

At the moment, I'm pretty sure he has un-friended me and block all coms.

Hope you can ban him or something so he can't pull this on newer traders like myself again!

I have also checked his inventory which, according to his profile, has 97 items in. It is now empty. Maybe his account was hijacked?
