What happened? Description:

Moments after I bumped my trade on tf2outpost a player by the name of "Liamihihi" added me asking if I still had my unusual I said I still had it. Then he discussed the price of said unusual and tried to bargain a little bit. Afterward he said he would buy the keys and return.

A few moments later he stated he wanted to make sure the hat was clean and unduped. After this statement he asked me if I had a trusted friend to hold the unusual to make sure it was clean. He says this is his brothers method and if he does not do it his brother gets angry. I protested for a while telling him I have been trading unusuals since 2011 and I have never seen such a method.

He went away for a moment and I took the opportunity to check his steam rep, which is something I should have done from the start. Once checked he had been reported three times for this exact scam he was trying to pull now.

So I tell him I have my friend ready to coerce him into coming back into the trade to make him think his scam is going along as planned. This is when I basically outlined his entire scam to him in chat.

(I never intended to pull said scam on this scammer, it was just a tactic to show this person I knew what he was doing and to scare him off.)​

Upon looking at liamihihi's friends list I noticed my name and picture even though I have already blocked and removed this user.

Further inspection shows it was the account he had ready to pull the bait and switch with my friend that he wanted to join the chat.
