    Scam Report

Report Type: [Accomplice] Alternate account of hijacker or scammer
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198082973973

    Victim profile: 76561198041033317

    What happened? Description:
I was friend requested today by someone who was willing to trade me TF2 keys for my unusual and he wanted to check if the hat was clean (i.e. not duped), so he asked me to trade it to a friend. I did so, and he thereafter quickly stopped responding, so I checked with my friend to get the hat back to find that he thought he had already returned it. The trader had used an alternate account to impersonate me and trade with my friend. Below is all the information I have regarding this scam.

    Provide Evidence:

Hi, I am the guy who was in the similar situation. I would just like to add that at no time did that hat in question leave my inventory so any notion of him checking it was bogus as I set the alt I used up with completely private backpack as well meaning he never checked the hat at all.

Also my alt was using Web chat at the time which made it unable to enter group chats, this makes it all the more obvious that the account that the scammed invited to the group chat was definitely not "my friend".

Thanks in advance for the investigation and I hope this dealt with soon.
