    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulant behavior
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198086077181 (LexMin)

    Victim profile: 76561197992003927

    What happened? Description:
The accused was offering Minecraft gift codes on reddit.com/r/steamgameswap. I proceeded to trade three TF2 keys and a gift copy of Sleeping Dogs, he then messaged me with the Minecraft gift code. I was able to successfully redeem the code. Unfortunately, the code was removed from my Mojang account about a month later.

In accordance with /r/sgs rules, I had originally marked the trade as confirmed, but I edited my confirmation after discovering the gift code had been disabled. I then a message from the accused in Steam with an explanation that claimed he had gotten the gift codes from someone else who had in turn scammed him, and would be refunding those who he had inadvertently scammed.

It's now been seven weeks since that response and I have yet to hear anything else from the accused. Since then, however, the accused has traded several times on other trading subreddits, often for high-value items.

    Provide Evidence:
2014-03-01 Lexmin SGS Thread.png: A screenshot of the reddit.com/r/steamgameswap thread, showing the accepted offer.

2014-03-01 Inventory History Snapshot.png: A screenshot of the outgoing items from my inventory.

2014-03-01 LexMin Response.png: A screenshot of the response I received once I had edited my trade confirmation on /r/sgsflair.

2014-02-28 FormerLurker RE LexMin.png: A screenshot of a PM I received from another user on /r/sgs, in which I was initially notified that the codes were no longer valid.

Hey there, accused here. I've been trying to reach out to OP to resolve this issue and pay him back like I said in the Steam conversation in the screenshot but to no avail. Will keep trying.

Adding on: I've reimbursed everyone who was affected except for the OP. I can reimburse him as soon as he accepts my friend request, or July 1st when my keys are tradeable.

I honestly stopped caring about this issue a long time ago (not to mention this SteamRep report that has been ignored for more than a year). If I could retract it, I would.

Another edit to make everyhing clear. I have paid everyone back list of the profile URLs include:

    http://steamcommunity.com/id/liamsp23/

On top of that, I've been actively trying to reach out to people who lost keys as a result. Members of the /r/SGS chat can back me up. Reiterating the lack of intention, I resold minecraft codes that I purchased from a third party, which were charged back.

Archiving this, as we don't handle CD-key scams anymore anyway.
