What happened? Description:

Middleman scam. I havent traded in a while and wanted to sell off my unusual. He gave me a steam group that looked legit. Had several accounts (i suspect are controlled by a group of scammers) comment on how successful their middleman services were. I let my gaurd down as the middleman had a clean steam rep and seemed to be very active on steam. So I gave up my unusual and the two left the group chat.​

Provide Evidence:

I know that he isn't impersonating any respected middle man but this is some serious fraud. If you look at the people who commented on the account saying they were happy with his service you can see they are all inactive and linked to one suspicious steam group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/communityreddit). I suspect this was done by more than one person. There was some serious effort put into leveling all these accounts up and using them to comment on the fraudulent middleman account.

I probably dont have enough proof because I closed the group chat, but this is no ordinary trade scam. Maybe ive been away from trading for too long, but this is an organized scam group that needs to be stopped.

These are just accounts i found on the first 3 pages of his profile. Guy has 89 pages full of fake accounts posting +rep thanks for middleman service.​

Ya pretty much. Is this kind of scamming the regular nowadays? I have never seen so much effort put into making making an account look so legit. The other accounts may not be involved with scamming me, but they are definitely linked with the scammer.
