What happened? Description:

Tried to scam me. Its pretty self explanitory. So thats it, afterwards he went silent and probably ran. gosh i hate these sorts of people. the trade offer was so fake. He tried to send me £40 over paypal or steam transactions or something of the sort.​

This is called a Steam wallet scam. I see alot of these lately.
