What happened? Description:

User added me in an attempt to purchase my knife, but he needed to "check to make sure my item was clean". He stated that we were going to use a SteamRep middleman to do the transaction. When I asked why, he stated that he had lost a Karambit Fade (FN) due to a trading bug/glitch.

After that, he stated he was going to add the SteamRep middleman to our chat and linked me his profile, which I assume 100% to be an impersonation account due to the fact that the "Middleman" was readily available to help with a trade without any prior agreements or an appointment set up. I declined the invitation to the chat and immediately told him I wasn't not interested in trading with him, he then proceeded to unfriend me.

After deleting the Accused, I looked him on SteamRep, and he has over six reports on just this account alone. Users, if I'm not mistaken, have also posted the impersonation accounts he is using that link back to this account. I sincerely hope he has not profited from this method of abuse and I hope he is banned from this platform as well as officially from Valve. Thank you.​

Upon researching further, he did link an actual SteamRep middleman's account, but I did not stick around long enough to see the imposter's account info. I can only assume he linked me a legitimate profile of a SteamRep middleman, and then would proceed to add an impersonation account to our chat.
