    Scam Report

Report Type: [Accomplice] Alternate account of hijacker or scammer
Virtual item type involved: [None] No items

    Accused profile: 76561198189429145

    Victim profile: 76561198056367336

    What happened? Description:
(Firstly may I pretense this by stating that while I have listed myself as the victim in this report it was only because I saw no way to select no victim. I was not actually scammed by this user but I have done a little bit of digging to connect them to at least 2 known scammer accounts. I should also add that this report is against two accounts, both the one shown in the accused section of the report and this account: http://steamcommunity.com/id/NerdHunt .)

    Ok, here we go.

So this all started with the account going by "spongebob" adding me and attempting to try the old trick of baiting me into sharking him by asking a very low price on an unusual cotton head. What I noticed instantly is that for an account with a seven bud unusual the account only had 2 hours of TF2 and was less than a month old.

From this I decided to investigate where this unusual had come from. Checking backpack.tf (timestamped link to backpack here: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198189429145?time=1430118000 ) I discovered that all three items had been obtained from a single account, NerdHunt:

    | steamname: NerdHunt
    | steam3ID: [U:1:144584904]
    | steamID32: STEAM_0:0:72292452
    | steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198104850632
    | customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/NerdHunt
    | steamrep: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198104850632

Due to this obvious provider account (and the fact that account was one of only two friends on the "spongebob" account) my trail of thought led me to assume that such an attempt to bait traders was likely to be an attempt to post a video of it on youtube. From a quick search of the name NerdHunt I discovered this channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCixfKyAVCa2mJg8LfMoOUdA . However the most important video is this one: .

Firstly I should mention that this youtube can be confirmed as belonging to the steam account in question by a couple of things, firstly in both the description and video itself the players gives his steam name as NerdHunt. However the more important piece of evidence is that is you check around the 6:19 point of the video the player brings up the scoreboard. From here the player's avatar can be clearly seen as a picture of deadpool holding a piece of paper, while this may be inconsistent with the NerdHunt account's current avatar it does match up comrrectly with the one displayed on TF2 Outpost which had clearly not been updated to the newer image yet: http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/76561198104850632 .

So now the youtube account has hopefully been confirmed as belonging to the NerdHunt steam account's owner I can continue.

What really got my attention is that around the 4:12 NerdHunt actually mentions the fact that "the old one had almost 500 hours" and "don't ask me about the old one, I don't want to talk about it" referring to an old account. Looking into this slightly further I discovered that the only other friend on the "spongebob" account was an account almost exactly fitting these criteria. This account was: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198064180498 , a known scammer with a valve trade ban and two more reports pending. However the main thing to take from this is that on the steamrep page for that account: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198064180498 . One of his know alts is this account: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198082862534 who happens to have the name |Tf2Ĥãts-λ| Omnitored .
    in
This name also just so happens to be the listed real name and a known alias of the original "spongebob" account. Adding this up it makes it very clear that "spongebob" is actually another alt of the scammer "Tf2Ĥãts ƒłαღε" which itself is an alt of "|Tf2Ĥãts-λ| Omnitored".

As for the "NerdHunt" account though, if the provision of a scammer alt with items to troll with and admission to having a previous account with a shady past is not enough evidence then you can also check the users backpack. (Time logged backpack with all items described shown here: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198104850632?time=1430118000 )
Several items including a Strange Festive Rocket Launcher, Steaming Brain Bucket, Strange Festive Pro Killstreak Force-A-Nature, Strange Pro Killstreak Australium Force-A-Nature as well as the disco beatdown Cotton Head from the backpack of "spongebob" have passed through either "Tf2Ĥãts ƒłαღε" or "|Tf2Ĥãts-λ| Omnitored". (screenshots of these item's histories can be found in the evidence but you are welcome to check them yourself at the timestamped backpack date) .

All in all I think this is conclusive proof that all these accounts are alts for the same scammer who is using them to avoid his past steamrep bans while keeping him items he gained from scamming with them.

    Thanks for reading.

For any questions or anything you would like me to add to this report just let me know and I will do my best to help as much as I possibly can.

I've done more research and got these. When I was about the post this comment, 'Spongebob' transferred back the items to his main 'NerdHunt'.

I have to admit I did have my suspicions that he was probably attempting to quickswitch scam. This sudden movement of items into an alt account could imply he is planning to move to a new account once again.

It may be worth reaching out to yasha for more testimonies to add to the report. I can try when I get home or you are welcome to go ahead and try.

I should also add that since the incident and since this report NerdHunt has changed both name and steam avatar, set if profile to private and removed his custom ID.
