    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198110813121

    Victim profile: 76561198059628402

    What happened? Description:
First off, I'm filing this even though the guy has some reports already because he isn't banned and it seems like there are some problems with the previous ones(listed as unconfirmed).

Seems like all these guys come from CSGOlounge. A minute or so after bumping one of my listings there, this guy added me and began asking to trade for my flip knife fade. I can see why he hasn't been banned yet, he seems convincing; profile looks somewhat real, he acts like a real trader(lowballing in the beginning, not giving an obviously fake offer) and I even believed he was real until he brought in the "trusted friend" line. After going through a couple knives until finding one I would be happy with, he began asking for a trusted IRL friend that could verify that I wouldn't run away after he bought the knife from opskins. I gave him the name but told him that none of my friends would be on at this time of day. Despite that, he had somebody change their profile to look like my friend and turned it into a group chat.
At this point I could see how many obvious flaws were in there and just played along to see how much more evidence I could gather. He started asking me to send the knife over to that "friend" to he can hold it and make sure I don't run from the trade after he buys the bayonet. The fake seemed rather reluctant, since he bailed out of the chat immediately when I said it wasn't my friend and seemed to have to be coaxed back in. He also didn't send a trade offer for my knife for a while. The scammer started talking to me in a private chat again and trying to pressure me into accepting the trade. After constantly telling him that wasn't my friend he eventually tried to play it off as an accident.

As a side note, there were some inconsistencies along the way. The OPSkins listing he sent me was selling the bayonet for nearly double its value and he kept trying to tell me that was the full price of a discount. His profile has a screenshot showcase of mid-tier knives but his trade screenshots show somebody receiving items like a m4 howl and high-tier knives. The dates on the trades and his +reps don't match up, even though I know those mean nothing to begin with.

In case you need it, here is the info block of the fake friend:
