Description: So today I was sending a gift wrapped Time Warp Slouch for a freind's birthday, and the gift was accidentally sent to the wrong person on my friends list, (valve doesn't ask to confirm the sending of gift sadly). The guy messaged me thanking for the unusual, but then when I asked for it back, as it is not his to have and didn't deserve it, he responded being immature and arrogant, and then removed me from his friends list. I even offered some keys for the trouble. I don't know if you can ban, in my eyes he deserves one as he is taking something that doesn't belong to him and blocking all communications. Steam support isn't responding and I'm not sure if there's a way I can get the hat back?

Sure thing, thanks for the fast reply. This shows what I traded for the unusual and renaming/gifting it, but the gifting doesnt show up as I did it through tf2, not steam trade.

Next to the Inventory History should be a Pending Gift button.
In there, you can find a button to your Gift History. I'm not sure if in-game gifted items appear on there as well, but you could try.
Also, steamrep can sadly not help you get your items back. The only way to get the unusual back is if the person returns it himself.

Yeah, in-game items don't seem to be appearing in there. Well that's a shame, but I really appreciate the fast response from you guys. He doesn't seem to be able to give it back sadly though, as he's blocked me. Looks like I'll await the steam support ticket to see if there's something they can do. Anyways

The guy needs to be marked as a scammer until he returns the item. Hopefully Admin will make the right decision. Getting an item that wasn't suppose to be your isn't yours, simple as that.

Thank you, I agree completely. And also, he's creating a fake story and selling the hat which I believe makes him definitely deserving of a ban unless he gives it back. Also he removed the desc & name cause it is about the real person who was supposed to receive the item.

Allright, here's the thing the scammer did add me and asked me if I wanted to buy his unusual for 1 bud, he didnt tell me what hat/effect it was he just said it was gifted, then I checked out one of his trade, then I saw gbdonhowe's comments about that he stole it and so on. I added him and asked then he told me that he gave the unusual to wrong guy. I asked him if he wanted it back so I bought it for 1 bud and he paid me 1 bud after that.

So basically the "wrong guy that got the item" now has Buds instead? What was the point of doing so?

Sorry for making it unclear I blame it since I was in rush when I wrote that.

The hat is about 2+ buds easily & I thought he wanted it back (I asked him and he wanted it back), so I bought it from the scammer for 1 bud and sold it for 1 bud (+ a sf amby since he was glad that he got it back)

We'll let an admin look further into this, thank you for reporting.

Problem solved, Citrus-zone got the hat back for me and offered the same price as what he paid for which was much cheaper than market, then I offered him some sweets added (SF) as a way of saying thanks, and appreciative of his help.
