Description: Met him almost a month ago, we became "friends". I gifted him a High Five taunt for his supposed birthday (which is how I knew his alternate account was him, as shown in the second picture). The next day he wished to borrow my Unusual Safe N' Sound, to which I stupidly agreed. Defriended and I didn't see him log in since. I happened across his alternate account by looking through the friends list one of his "real life" friends.

Unfortunately, I did not think to grab the chat logs at the time. I was quite upset that a supposed friend would go and do this. I do remember the gist of it, however. He started playing as Engineer frequently (which should have been a clue right there) and he said he enjoyed it. Then he said I should play as Engineer more often to show off my Unusual. Afterwards I traded him the Unusual to borrow.

As i remember, i never wished to borrow it... I made jokes about it, then you asked "would you like to use it?"

You were well aware of the consequences of trading an item away to someone.

So what reason did you have to "befriend" me before I had that unusual, might I ask? I didn't unbox it until after we met. Was it perhaps to get something from me for your "birthday"? I honestly don't know what to believe anymore.

    Let me get this straight.

    >Became friends with somebody over the internet
    >traded them items for no return
    >got mad when they did not return the item
    >Mysteriously forgot to take screencaps of everything

Sounds like a case of unrequited love.

Really? I lend items to friends all the time and they don't scam me.

He does have screencaps- the important ones, namely showing that he traded it away to this guy who even admits here in the forum that he had no intention of giving it back. As this is a personal matter, I am going to give Seniorsquiggles an opportunity to trade the item back to Luvedragon. If he doesn't, he will be marked as a scammer as he stole the item. If you borrow your friend's $300 riding lawnmower then tell the police, "He should have known what would happen if he lent out that lawnmower", you will still be arrested, charged & convicted of stealing.

Then why do it? At this point I don't care about the unusual, but more so the fact that I was betrayed.

Do what you wish with the hat. I hope you enjoy it. To think I was actually tempted to sell it in hopes of getting gifts for everyone on the server. :/

To be honest, it doesnt appear that we can see a contract of a "loan" present.

Given that I am assuming luvedragon is female, I am inclined to believe that she gifted this hat, and the other gift (high five) to this guy in an attempt to gain his affection\attention.

We have one thing to go by, the fact that s\he ALREADY admitted to gifting the high five. Whats to say she didnt ALSO gift the hat and now wants it back after being rejected?

Yes, I am female. The High Five Taunt was more or less a last minute thing, as Squiggles gifted me donor status on a server I frequent. It was more or less a way of me repaying him, and the birthday thing was an added bonus.

Thats what im saying, youve given one gift, so how do we know this ALSO wasnt a gift? Without knowing either of you to, one can easily draw the assumption that you may, at one time, have been romantically involved, and this is part of the fallout of a breakup. Without any actual evidence that the item was a loan and not another gift(like the gift you had given him previously, ALSO, allow me to reference your post here " Do what you wish with the hat. I hope you enjoy it. To think I was actually tempted to sell it in hopes of getting gifts for everyone on the server. :/" Where you AGAIN mentioned giving away gifts).

Where in the world would you get the idea that we were romantically involved? I only met the guy earlier this month, and only know him from online. :/

Yes, I've given gifts away, especially to friends. I believed Squiggles to be a friend, and trusted that he would return the hat. Which obviously did not happen.

Just quoting this to save for the admins later. Instance two of a discussed gift, including the high five.

Not the smartest move to make a blatantly sexist comment when the person handling the report is a female admin. For future reference, you might want to cut down on the misogyny when speaking in public.

Also, RAYCHARLESWITHNIGHTVISION, this case does not involve you. As this thread seems to be derailed by assumptions, I am locking it. Luvedragon, if/when SeniorSquiggles gives back the item, please PM me privately with screencaps of the trade/trade history.

The evidence before me is that there was a one-sided trade, and the person who received it openly admitted here that their intention was to take the item & run. So the final determination is this: SeniorSquiggles must return the hat to Luvedragon or he will be marked as a scammer. When in doubt, I go by United States law. If a person files a report of theft, regardless of how the circumstances were surrounding it, the person they reported against is at minimum detained and told to give the item back- at worst, they are imprisoned for theft.

As SeniorSquiggles has traded away the hat, and not to the original owner, he clearly has no problem with the world knowing that he is a scammer. Therefore I am marking all of his accounts. He had a chance to do the right thing and he chose to be a thief. Case closed.
