What happened? Description:

I was going to trade two skins for a paysafecard code for $55. He wanted a middle man, I chose my friend who he said he trusted, he then got one of HIS friends to act like my friend, made his profile private (same picture and name) and then wanted me to trade the skins to him.​

Heres a screenshot of me giving my friend the skins, he made a thread which shows screenshots of him giving the fake harm my items. The second screenshot is the scammers profile and I highlighted where he impersonated me in order to get my friend (the middleman) to give him the skins.

So what's the reality of me getting my skins back? Not according to what the FAQ says on Steam support but based on community experience recently...

Well I don't like those odds... I sent Steam support a well written ticket, I closed my argument with " ... its all right there, do the right thing and return my items please." so we'll see the outcome. I'll post the conclusion when it is reached.

Steam support is pretty much merciless.
If they'll do it once, it'll create the precedent and they will be overflown with similar reports.
Valve "doesn't recognize"(read steam ToS) trades outside steam for real world currency and they usually do not interfere in impersonation scams as well since it was victim's responsibility to click on the profile they're trading with and compare steam id.
