He said he saw my post on steam trade forum. I sent him part of the trade. He said he would send me a key and if it worked we would do the rest of the trade. Well we did the first part and he sent the key. The key didn't work and he logged off. I attached the images as proof.
The scammer is getting really active. Same scheme as in my case two days ago. http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198047549226-35-p4n3m5u-t4vu5-g31mu5.8453/
Yeah, he got me. Sorry to hear the guy also got you. I'm glad the untrusting part of my only sent him two games I had no intention of playing and not all 6 like I would have if they key worked. I bought them during the sale for cheap so I didn't lose much money. I was just so excited to finally get an offer for the only game I actually wanted that I took a chance. Bad chance I guess. I don't care about the money or the games. The part that bothers me is this guy probably has more accounts that he will just transfer his scammed games too and nothing will happen to him. He gets tons of free games from multiple people, and I'm one of the people, like you, that is stuck with nothing. No games, no money and no justice. Really makes me start to think I'm in the wrong business of trying to fairly trade games. I wish steam was able to flat out reverse a trade if proven to be a scam. Scammer gets banned. Victim gets game back and learns a good lesson. That's the first and last time I ever trade for a key. Anyone that offers me one from now on will get a very unpleasant response. Kinda fitting that that scam happened to be the topper on one of the worst days of my life.
Sorry I didn't take any screenshots as I wasn't really sure he is a scammer but he did try to trade with me just now, "his walking dead cdkey for mine serious sam 3". When I asked him to go first because his account looked super shady he said something nonsensical like "dude I got serious sam 3 really cheap" and deleted me from friendslist. He had no reason not to trust me as I think my account looks fairly legit and I would lose a lot if I were to scam, so I believe his intentions were far from pure.
I just recently tried to trade with him and he would not budge into using the actual trade window, he wanted me to gift my game first. He also deleted me after I called him out for being a scammer. My advice is stay away from him.
Yes, unfortunately, I am the third victim. Already submitted a ticket on Steam Support and will be doing the same here very shortly.
So... Why hasn't anything been done yet? People are getting scammed by this guy all over. He isn't stopping. Can we get something done about this guy before he gets others?
SR reports are dealt with as they come in. There's only one Reports admin, please be patient. I realize it may be difficult.
Thank you for your report. A similar report was made for the same person here: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198047549226-35-p4n3m5u-t4vu5-g31mu5.8453/
