This poor little scammer tried sharking me out of my items recently, little did he know I have the mind of a veteran TF2 Trader. I showed no sympathy for the scammer, so I decided to play along with the trade until he gave me enough information. Oh yeah, for the record, he didn't scam me.

I give my evidence though the trade as it was happening, as well as the entire trade in text (besides his plea at the end). I understand that it isn't such a huge deal here, but a scammer is a scammer, and a scammer has to learn lessons somehow.

Lowball offers are not the same thing as scams.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but isn't claiming something is a completely different price then what it is scamming?

For all we know, he legitimately thought that was the price. I've met people who thought bills were worth any other craft hat, strange huntsmans are worth a key, unusuals are worth 3 hats, ect dozens of times. He was most likely new. At the very most this was sharking, but even then that's what EVERYONE does occasionally in tf2 and even then, we still don't know for sure if he was.

Scamming is taking from someone with nothing in return (Promising to give something after and not following through) or trying to change the trade by removing stuff from the trade(quickswitching). What the guy did may have been sharking (on an extremely low level) and sharking unfortunately doesn't get tags on steamrep as items do not have a set in stone price on them.

Correct, I am not saying that I am. But have seen a million of these reports of the same thing your report will likely be marked invalid soon as at the most it was sharking on a very low level and even high level sharking is not a taggable offence. I think acesgamer forums might tag if its extreme sharking (ie unusuals and such) that but not here.

SteamRep does not mark for sharking.
