Was asked by a guy to leave fake rep on his profile in exchange for fake rep on mine. Reported on outpost and am reporting here too.

The problem is that this is kind of a grey area thanks to misuse of a reputation system - in this circumstance you are not trading for real money items. People repping each other for non-cash trades has become a norm for some reason, and fake rep for something like this is pretty much worthless.

Reputation for cash trades on the other hand actually matter, and a sensible trader is going to throw all that easily obtainable nice guy reputation out of the window when doing any cash trading. Unless he was actually asking for rep regarding a cash trade, then it'd be serious, but in this case you're just trading for in-game items.

Gaining reputation for doing trades which either trader cannot hold back on is absurd. It's not on the same level of reputation you will get for passing real money around.

Me and the other guy didn't trade at all. Which is why I reported this. He is just some random guy going around asking for fake rep.

Just want to add an interesting fact:

Even tho this guy is right, asking for rep...but then again it can also be for some old trade that they have done...who knows...

OP's been marked like one week ago, at time of reporting he wasn't marked. Fake repping is a scamming offense, which is unfortunately done extensively.

However, the reported person has over 270 (!?) comments on his profile, spaced out over a long period. Its not like he needed it.

then I saw this in his comment history a load of:
    http://files.steamrep.com/1/2012-11/2012-11-08_12-48-11.png
    http://files.steamrep.com/1/2012-11/2012-11-08_12-49-05.png

And before that a load of:
    http://files.steamrep.com/1/2012-11/2012-11-08_12-49-36.png

    Marking scammer.

Both ID blocks should be there: Victim/Reporter's and the Reported Scammer.
