    Scam Report

    Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
    Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198844307441

    Victim profile: 76561198144736277

    What happened? Description:
    Randomly got sent a friend request by them - their profile was clean but I think I accidentally added them when I was adding someone else (the person you see in image 5 is who i meant to add). They told me I had a thing on my account that said I had a scammed item, and after talking for a while they sent an image saying I had to add someone to fix it. I suspected them of being a bot from the not-responses so i asked them to say something strange before they unadded me.​

    Provide Evidence:
    They message me saying I have a thing on my account and that I will be banned for it. (Image 1 + 2)
    I question them a lot on it, and check my profile to see. I didn't see it, but they told me their friend had it as well and they don't want me to be banned. (Image 2 + 3)
    They tell me they got a reply from Steam, saying I had to send a friend request to an admin to get it fixed. (Image 4)
    I then realised where this was going and suspected that since they're not really replying to me, I wanted them to say something absurd to see either if it was a bot or that the person would do as I said. (Image 5)

    Then they unadded me. (Image 5)​

    @Niiko487 This is 99.99999% of the time a hijacking issue with the user you were told this. That should be reported to Valve as they were again likely the true owner not in control of their account.
    Did you report this user to Valve yet? Did they give you an ID of any other users?

    I have just reported it under "Possible Hijack", and the image they included of the "Steam Support" was of another user's account link. I didn't want to click on the image in case it was from another website (i'm paranoid about that sort of thing) but I'll try and copy it out.

    I reported Pybro but didn't report the other user because I wasn't talking to Pybro anymore. I've now reported them for impersonation of a Valve Employee.

    I'm just wondering, shouldn't grizz be marked anyway because of their profile set-up? they have the whole "im an admin" thing going on

    Nope - because if you look its been Community banned by Valve already and that clearly shows its no longer a threat for starters and that it was likely hijacked as well.
    This is very typical and I've done so many of these the signs are almost always the same.

    In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT
