hijacked/stolen account

my account has been stolen today and i have already sent a ticket to steam support. is there anything i have to do here?

Not realy, they are the only ones who can regain it.
You might however run some scans for viruses/mallware, and change all Log-In passwords to other sites/e-mail acounts.

1. Scan your computer for mallware with real anti-mallware
2. Think about how you where hijacked, and check that that wont occur again.
3. make a steam support ticket
4. make a SteamRep report with info on what account is hijacked, and specifically say since when.
5. Wait for Steam Support to answer you with some questions, and reply to them.
6. once steam support granted your hijack, make a appeal thread here on SR.

why this? well, if the hijacker is doing scammer s✿✿✿ with your account, we must have logs of when you had no control over it.

Tf2 items.com look at your recent history
It may tell you who your hijacker was.

not really, the items get traded around very quick, to stay ahead of valve.

ok, i know who my hijacker is, he tricked me into providing him with my log in details, i feel so stupid now :/ is it necessary to file a report to steamrep?

btw, i checked the hijacker's profile on steamrep and he is marked as sr scammer, but on his steam profile, he's been given a lot +rep fast trader comments

Not neccisarily if you can remember the time you were hijacked the first account it is traded to is normally the hijackers right?

That my friend is called fake rep, scammers do it alot to make people think that the person is trusted.

Huh clever bastards,so what you are saying is that they trade the unusual to a random guy and then thee track it, and when someone else is selling it they buy it back with their account, with the money they made selling it?

No.

I'm not going to explain this in detail. But there can be a lot of accounts between the hijacked account and the "trader" where it surfaces again. Some items take months to re-appear if ever.

Ok, so what your saying is that the hijackers have acomplices that help them.

Oh some of the serial offenders have little rings that do their dirty work, kind of like Fagin and his little munchkins in Oliver Twist.

hey guys steam support hasn't replied yet, but ive been checking on my inventory and it seems like he's traded away some of my stuff, but for some reason he doesn't seem to be doing anything BAD to it like trading stupidly. it's as if he's treating it as his own account? he even changed my name to his :/

oh and just yesterday he used my account and now im marked sr scammer on steam rep :/

He's using your account to sell items for profit any way possible. Meaning, trying to scam others, and your account gets the blame while he walks off clean.

btw how did he trick you?
The first message you get in chat is to never tell your password to anyone.

btw after steam support gets my account back can my items be restored back? and will I still be marked sr scammer on steam rep?
