Okay first things first. This is an alt account of a friend of mine, I'm doing an appeal for it because I believe it was banned with very, very weak evidence.

The owner of the account sent a message out of the blue to the user, sending a pishing link. From this point, it's alright. But what happens is:
-The account, at the time, was offline for more than a month or so.
-The account has no games, thus it can't use the community features (such as finding the user through a group, in order to send a chat request to someone you aren't friends with.)
-Remilia(the "victim") then apparently searched through a list of users with the name "Scootaloo™" with the matching avatar, instead of simply clicking on the avatar from the chat, which led to report the wrong account. Yes, they had almost identical avatars (the scammer's, white background, the alts', orange/purple which you can clearly see on the history of the account on the steamrep link), but a screenshot is not just enough proof for that.

If I am not mistaking, I think the person with the scammer tag should be the one logging in and appealing for his tag on this forum.

So it's best to just leave the account as a false scammer because it was banned mistakengly with the only proof being a screenshot?

Wic isn't contending that point at all. The rules on the SteamRep FAQ clearly state that appeals can only be performed by the account that has received the tag, not by a third party. The only person who is allowed to make an appeal for Meowmaid is Meowmaid, not you (despite your good intentions for your friend).
