So i stopped playing TF2 for a few months until now and i noticed now some items are missing.
In mid februrary a bunch of mails were sent to me by steam guard saying that someone tried to:
    -use my account
    -change my password
-change the mail of said account
I did change my password every time that happened and i did not even use Steam at that time but someow 2 guys got access to my account and traded away some of my more valuable items. I had to retrieve my account through support in 2 out of 3 occasions.
I can not report them here on steamrep, but a support ticket went out and hopefully they will be banned soon.

What do you think, was it my fault?
Is the Steamguard enough? If so, why did they get access to my account?

I think 1 of the mails was probably fake.

Gabe Newell gave out his account name and password... Not once has anyone successfully cracked his account's steamguard.

He disabled his account the day after, for everybody was trying.

and SteamGuard is only a silly excuse for being "2-step". Email accounts are the most hacked things around. Yet a load of sites require those to "reset password" etc.

    read this: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/general-e-mail-security-considerations.17308/

And be actually on the fence instead of some fake sense of security.

No, the Mails were no fake, just the standard "here is a code you have to enter" things.

Even so, you can still attempt a logon into his account. I tried it a year or two ago.
