Can it be related to your caching methods? Have you cleared your browser cache?

I don't really want to log into those - but I mean, my Steam login is working with every other website I frequent (TF2R, SPUF, TF2Lobby, etc).

I know "Sharking" is extreamly mean and cheap way to obtain expencive items, but can you receive bad rep for it, i've looked at your FAQ and everyhere else and couldn't find it, so i'm asking here.

SteamRep does not handle sharking reports. There are several other communities that do, however, and they will ban on sight for it.

Can you please provide a link, so if some one needs the same thing they can find it.

Plenty of servers you can report sharks on, MCT, TF2-TRADER, HG and many others. Trouble is that will result in a ban for that particular server, not exactly a major problem for the "shark" concerned.

hello, how long should i expect a report to be reviewed by an admin? i made a report 8 days ago. i read elsewhere that you guys get 50-100 reports a day so i imagine you can get quite backlogged.

also, should i be bumping a report? i looked at the FAQ but did not see a reference to thread bumping.

no, bumping will get a topic locked by mods. reports are done in order that they where created. bumping or replying won't speed it up. Mods will ask questions to get a completer report and once all needed information is there, they will set it to ready for review by a admin. a admin will then review the report, so that the admin only needs to look into it once.

thanks for your response. so 8 days is not unusual - i looked through the reports that are pending and that are some older than mine that are untouched but also quite a few that have already been looked at by a mod - some even filed today (one even marked accepted: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198081924815.30991/)

i understand some reports are more critical than others - am just wondering how long i should expect to wait before i have some sort of response.

this is a friendly, not a whiny, question it was my first report so i am just curious

Generally reports are done in order of arrival, some that are urgent or especially easy might be done sooner.

The thing is there are very many reports, and very few Admins. Mods very much speed things up, but ultimately only an Admin can mark reports.

It is never going to be easy, the stuff Admins do requires special skills and they must be competent and above reproach. Find good server Admins is hard these days, finding people suitable for SR is next to impossible

Remember that an SR mark can ruin a trading career, so they must be very thorough and cautious, and some of the reports they receive are highly complex and require a great deal of investigative work. It can be frustrating for people who report, I have reports which have not be finalised as well, but we all need to be mindful SR do not get paid and spend a lot more time and effort than most people realise. We just have to be patient

really depends, mods have to sweep it up to get it to ready for review. They do work their best, but as different mods have different sections appointed etc, some sections get neglected for a period due private life.

This seems like an obvious question, but I searched the forums, FAQs, and used Google but I can't find an explanation of what these tags mean.


A few of my Steam friends are marked "friendsonly" or "usersonly" on my Steamrep page. I can't find what that means. What do those tags mean?

That is a setting they choose to set in their Steam Profiles, nothing to do with Steamrep.

Oh, okay, it means that user has set their profile to be viewable by friends/users only. Cool! Thanks!
