Description: I don't have the log because it was earlier when this happened and I didn't see this site before it was too late, but this guy/girl wanted my unusual green blackhole marauder. We agreed that he'd pay $90 and gave his Unusual "Le Party Phantom" with the nuts and bolts effect. We then traded with my marauder and his le party phantom and then he proceeded with paypal to send the money. He then stated that he sent it and I should check my history. I said, "ok thanks." and went to log in, but there was no money. I went to chat with him again, and he then was offline and when I tried to look him up, steam stated that I was blocked from him. I forgot his complete username, but it was like Thomas something. Hope this helps and never trade with this guy.

Please provide a screenshot (noncropped) of your inventory history (your profile -> inventry -> inventory history). It'll show up that you've traded with him. Also provide a screenshot of your paypal to support your claim. And IF you have any logs, make a screenie of that as well.

I'll get right on that, but I've been trying to find the log for this conversation, but I can't seem to find it. I never really had to find a chat history. Does steam even allow it?

Somewhat. You have to re-add the person (I'm afraid) to view the recent chats you had with him. It really sucks that valve doesn't have a fully supportive chat logger.

lol I think that's pretty much impossible since the person blocked me. Oh, and now they even changed their name. But here's some more info. hope this helps!

Sorry for the ignorance, but what happens now? I've never had to do this before, so I guess, is there anything I should expect?

I'm a SOP administrator, as such I can only deal with SourceOP related things. Your report is SteamREP related (reported directly to steamrep, and has nothing to do with sourceop) and that is outside my department. As such, a SteamREP administrator will review your report shortly and will mark the person that scammed you with a SR Scammer mark on his SteamREP profile. That is, if your report will be accepted with enough evidence. But I think that wouldn't be the case.

Apologies for necroing such an old report. I have recently started trading again and the stigma of this accusation is making things really difficult for me.
Now, I understand that what I did was morally wrong but I was strictly profit driven back then; offering my low-tier unusual for his one, which was far more expensive at that time. However, I still regard this incident as a successful sharking attempt and nothing more.
Due to the long time that has passed since, I do not have any chat logs that can prove my innocence. The only proof that I can offer is a screenshot of a trade posted on tf2outpost from four years ago (the one in which I was trying to sell his unusual, I can also provide the link if necessary) in which he accuses me of scamming him, a day after the trade has taken place:


So, here's what I think it happened: he traded his hat for mine, realized that he made a bad deal and proceeded to accuse me of scamming and afterwards made up the $90 paypal deal in order to report me.
Regarding the "evidence" that he provided, I find it baffling how a trading history screenshot and one of his empty paypal account can even account as evidence
