    This question is entirely out of curiosity, but: Is there any sort of punishment for being steam friends who are marked scammers/tradebanned/caution on steamrep? I'm only asking because I'm afraid that, at some point, one of my steam friends is going to end up scamming someone and getting marked for it on steamrep, and I'd really rather that not affect my own account.

    No, there is no effects here by having SR marked friends on their friends list.
