Alright i would like to appeal for my ban and why i feel that it is unjust, so firstly i had made a big mistake by buying this stolen hat off a hijacker that has been my biggest mistake i have ever done in all my trading career, This does not make the victim of the attack the only victim here, it also makes me a victim here too, considering i have no where else to trade this, losing my buds i had paid for this hat. I've never had a bad record ever in my trading history, and this one mistake can cause/will ruin my reputation.

Alright it started off like this, i was surfing tf2tp every now again, and found this great deal on tf2tp, which was a guy selling a burning modest for 14 buds, so i added him and asked him if he would go lower like 13 buds.. but he did not respond, at this point i thought he had sold it, so i deleted him (via friends list) and felt like i missed a great deal and went on and played a game with some mates for around 1 hour. After around the hour or so, i decided to go back and refresh the tf2tp website, just to see another good deal which was another stolen hat (that i was not aware of) so i added this guy, and asked if he would sell the hat for the amount he wanted, and he agreed to trade it which was very strange.. As i didn't check the history before i bought the hat, i checked after i bought the hat, and the person i bought it off had the name "Unknown" and i clicked into it and it directed me to an empty page where it literally had nothing...it wasn't banned so i didn't know if it was a legitimate scammer, then i check the person before "unknown" and it came up with GVK R3P, then i checked his profile, and it came up with "i am not selling any unusual, thanks." Which then made my heart drop, i felt sick because i now knew that it was a stolen unusual, and i had a stolen unusual in my hands to deal with, i felt so anxious, in my head i had thought that i would get banned, and my conscious kept telling me should i sell it? or should i notify the admins that i have this on my hands. I wanted my mind to get off of this disaster so i went to play a game with my mates, thinking that everything would be okay, but then i then i refresh the tf2tp, just to get banned for a year for adding the 2 scammers/hijackers and buying the stolen unusual, without any question how, i did not know how to contact them after i got banned. I do not know why i got a year ban, i felt like it was harsh because they didn't question me on what happened which is why i have to explain everything here. I don't know if pictures would help in this situation but i don't want to be a victim here, i'm pretty much now a victim, it feels like now i got scammed off this scammer and getting banned for it. I did not ask for this to happen, i'm not grateful for getting this. i wish that i can return this to the owner (GVK R3P), It is a hard thing thing to do considering i did pay for this hat.

I felt that this is unfair for me, considering i had no clue that this guy was a hijacker before i traded him, where i wish he was banned before i even added him. i had noticed that GVK R3P had many more unusual, that were probably sold to others too who too should be in the same boat as me, if they aren't marked as a scammer too, then that is unjust for me. I feel that i deserve another chance because this is the only mistake i had ever made, and judging by this mistake i can tell myself that buying hijacked hats is as big as hijacking the hat.

This is pretty much the day summarized and that it was a pretty awful day, considering GVK R3P got hacked and lost most or if not all of his unusuals that he was not willing to trade, and not only that but me having one of those lost unusuals in my hands at the moment, not knowing what to to with it. I really feel like giving it back considering i feel really bad for him. But there's no other choice but to wait if this gets accepted or denied if this gets denied, then i can't really sell the hat which gives no other option but to give it back to the owner, but if this gets accepted then it'll probably be the same option considering it'll probably be forced.

Also i would like to point out that this person has 3 hijacked hats from the same owner who isn't banned, which is kinda weird...

Scammers frequently make new Steam accounts (or buy Steam accounts) to avoid bans placed on their main account. An obvious scammer alt is a trader who has a great deal of knowledge of the values of items and the Steam economy, yet has a very recent Steam account or very low hours played in TF2. Trading with these accounts is not permitted.
The following clues help identify an obvious scammer alt:
    • Low hours of TF2/DotA with a deep knowledge of Steam/TF2 item values
    • New Steam start date, but eager to trade high value items
    • Private backpack, and with no rep threads
    • Quickselling fresh items that are less than a day old in their backpack
    • Nearly empty game backpack except for a few high value items with very recent history
Note, trading with newbies is not discouraged-- it is only when your conversation and their vital statistics make it obvious that they surpass the trading abilities of a newbie, which usually means they are an alternate account of an experienced trader.

Thanks for the assistance Otacon, i will get this into my knowledge when i come across trades everywhere i go, and take caution when in a conversation with the buyer/seller and to make sure that their backpack/hours aren't suspicious.

I don't know if this thread is even considered by any admin but i still don't understand how this isn't a caution. As i stated before, "this is my first ever offense", and also i didn't get any response for my link above whatsoever.
And also: http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,1912693689,390,5 - This item has been bought off the same hijacker and the owner of the hat has only been banned temporarily, i check his steam rep and it's blank and clear as hell. I'm not trying to be rude, but i don't understand. . .
Also: http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/96998 (Link to the Owner)
    The Reason:
This user has been banned until 06:40:08 GMT on 9th September, 2013 by +MacroPower. The reason for this ban is as follows:
Purchasing a high tier unusual from a banned hijacker. http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,1912693689,390,5

Please note that future offenses of this type may result in negative steamrep tags and/or a permanent ban.
... And i get banned permanently.
