I got scammed, and it seems nothing is being done about it.

I submitted the report a week ago, and it was marked as "accepted"

    I don't have a job, I am a student, but I need this money/unusual.

Unless if you could somehow convince the scammer to give it back, there's nothing SR or Steam Support can really do. If you'd like, you could report him to Steam Support as well and hopefully he/she/it can get trade banned.

Ok, but what is the purpose of submitting a ticket?

They say all they do is investigate the scam, but isn't that what people here do?

We cannot trade ban any account. Steam Support can.
    also:
If they receive a ticket, it is a beginning of investigation. If they find any more suspicious activity, it can go much further than just your ticket.

The only way to get your money back:
Is to file a civil suit, report to the police for online fraud. But depends on your countries police / law system if they going to do any with it. If not, you'll have to sue the guy, and get a court order for valve to get all info on the guy.

Is it worth to sue someone over $160?

thats the question... you 'll lose a lot of time, that will cost you more then the wage over those hours. But they can file a report to the police. shame this is worldwide and such cases are not ending up in a pile and then some team to be set upon it etc.

For $160, best off taking it on the chin to be fair with the amount of work to recoup that, and you'll still end up out of pocket.
Might be worth while logging a ticket with valve.

People rarely ever go as far as suing other people over some 160$ virtual hat or assortment of stuff.
Your best bet is to go to Steam Support. If nothing improves, think of it this way: You paid $160 for a valuable lesson.

I'd rather think you would report this to Steam Support.

Steamrep has no way of getting the money back.

Steam Support doesn't really care about cash trades either.

You are most likely screwed, but at least submitting a ticket could lead to a better result.

I submitted a ticket a while ago, but they are not doing anything.

I am very mad at the fact I am scammed
I am also very mad at the fact that I get nothing, not even a "sorry" for compensation.

I don't have a job, so that 160 or so dollars was precious to me, now I have nothing.

I don't understand. You fell for a scam, where it was totally possible for you to avoid it, and now you seek compensation?

Then don't spend them on virtual items. Save it for something useful, like car repairs or groceries.

SR has no power to return your money. Locking the thread.
