I received a message containing a phishing link today from him and in the past his account has also had a steamrep caution which it now seems has been removed.

Screenshot of the message he sent with the link in it as well as my response to it.

Please, allow me to fix this up.

On Monday, October 28th around 10:40 AM, my Steam account was compromised due to me being ignorant when clicking links. Afterwards, my account was turned into a bot and, as stated by the OP, was sending phishing links. As such, it was not I myself that was sending the links to people. And yes, I had a Scammer tag on me in the past. However, if more research was put into it, the reasons behind why it was there and why it was removed could easily be found (SEE: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/76561198000700248-uas-matrix-sr-scammer.28388/).
Anyway, out of common sense, I went to Steam Support for help resolving this (as seen in the attached image). In return, on Wednesday, October 30th (today), my account was given back to me along with any items that were stolen from me. I am currently in control of my account, and plan on being more careful with it.

Over all, I believe these charges should be filed null and void. Since only my word is not enough, proof can be seen in the attached image that it was not I that was sending the phishing links, but a bot / the hijacker.
    Thank you for your time.

    - Jake

Sorry about that, I forgot to edit some personal information out of the ticket in my first post but my editing time ran out. Here is the image stated in the previous post.

I got this link from your steam account to mine and I'm sure other friends we had in common may have also been seeing these dangerous links as well so I asked someone who we both know about this issue as he is much more versed in dealing with these matters than I still am and I did what he thought was best to do to get this on record. It seems that you have a difficult time keeping your account as yours. It is very dangerous to allow it to be taken over not just once but multiple times due to "being ignorant". You need to practice safer habits and be careful with your account. Weather its a bot or a hijacking is for valve and SteamRep to determine but these are the facts.

    1. I received a phishing link from your account to mine.

    2. I was advised by someone smarter in these matters to report it with the evidence included.

    3. You have in the past had a SteamRep caution due to a lack of carefulness in controlling and maintaining your steam account and its now a repeat occurrence. This is hopefully a way to resolve this with whatever SteamRep decides.

This is unfortunate but these are the facts.

Indeed, it is my responsibility to keep my account safe and secure. Once my account was breached, I continued to try and keep it and those who are friends with it secure by reporting it to Steam Support so they could lock it down.

Again, it was from my account, but it was not I that sent it. Since you seem to apparently have much more experience in the field of security than I do, you should have known that it was a bot sending it, and not my person.

I beg to differ, my friend. I talked to the person in question, and as seen by the attached images, they claim they advised you to NOT submit a report.
(If the staff of SteamRep would like me to submit / PM the unobfuscated image, just ask).

And, yet again, if you had looked into it, you would have seen that this was out of my control. My brother got into trouble and was marked. As a result, since we share the same IP, I was assumed to be my brother as well, and was also marked as an alt of him. I was never even shown evidence as to why I was marked, as it was merely based on the premise that same IPs = one person with multiple accounts. If you would like to confirm this, there are several people you can talk to:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/ksaspike/ <--- KSA Spike, a member who was present during the ordeal and helped me get in contact with Helen Angel
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054123203/ <--- Sivartz, a well-known, respected member and admin of the TF2 / SteamRep community who was also present during the ordeal and helped me get unmarked
http://steamcommunity.com/id/helenangel <--- Helen Angel, an admin of SR with very high credentials and respect who interviewed my brother and I, and determined that I was NOT my brother. Thus, she unmarked me and my own alts.

As you stated above, the facts are indeed unfortunate.

Well you've mentioned who here so this is once again the facts yes, Sivartz is who I asked about this and he said that he didn't think that you would intentionally do this kind of thing. He asked me to get it on record though and file a steamrep report about it so that all the proof of what was sent was there to see when dealing with this situation, which I did. Prior to this all I'd known of your account and possible honesty is that I had seen your account marked as a caution before and Sivartz told me that it was some kind of misunderstanding in the past and I think that you had also told me this but I never knew why or checked.

He asked me to post the evidence in this case to have it on record and laid out so that it would be dealt with from there. What I posted was proof of a Phishing Link Scammer, weather or not that person controlling your account was you or not is for others to decide. I have been messaging Sivartz today about this trying to get a response or some clarification on this so hopefully he will soon respond so that this can be cleared up more. I'm just doing as I was asked to do with what I encountered on this situation, nothing more. I'm reporting problems with this Steam account as it has been compromised and was sending around phishing links which is a very valid thing to report to SteamRep. Weather or not that person was you is for you to sort out with SteamRep.

I've stated all the facts on this and have nothing more to say on this matter.

In response to whether or not Sivartz told you to post it or not, it appears that he may have told you one thing, but told me a different story. Regardless though, us debating over whether or not you were advised to post this is going to get us nowhere.

In regards to my account previously having a tag on it, I do not believe that should be held against me if the full story isn't even known. Do not judge a book by it's cover.

As for Steam Rep deciding who sent the phishing links, I believe that the original image I posted where a member of the Steam Support staff claimed that my account was hijacked by another user should be enough proof to say that it was not I that sent those phishing links.

That's really all I have left to say as well.
