These two people had attempted to scam me. For some time after a while, I got back into the unusual business and bought a quicksale cancer unusual. I posted a trade on Outpost with my new hat and waited for offers.

However, on the second day of owning this hat, I was hit with a friend request. I add the person, thinking it's someone wanting to trade or play with me. The conversation starts with me greeting them. Later on, the person says they want to buy my unusual with Paypal. I hesitate, but I end up agreeing as long as we use a trusted middleman.

A short while later, he links me to a middleman's Steamrep page and says we'll be using them. I agree since it seems fair, and we are put into a chatroom. I start to investigate and I see that they both are rather new to TF2, and the "middleman" has nothing on his Steam page, let alone any rep or anything at all. I must say, these people are rather bad at scamming/impersonating, haha.

In the end, I told them off and they left the chatroom.

Unfortunately for the community, I searched the backpack and was unable to find any items tracing to a primary account. A real shame, really. Oh well.

This guy just tried doing the same thing to me. I shut it before taking screen shots out of anger, but the conversation was essentially the same as above.

These guys are persistent, if nothing else. They tried the same thing on me, I realized instantly that it was a scam. Proof down below.



Everything they do is a textbook scam. I was almost embarassed for them.
