Who exactly did you trade with? Are you sure you didn't trade with an impersonator? Go to your trade history to find the user you traded with.

As in the thread you bumped, you probably were scammed by an impersonator.

    actually USE your inventory history:

    • Open steam.
    • On top left, click "Steam" and select option "Settings".
    • On the dialog box, select the tab "Interface" and make sure the option "Display Steam URL Address bar when available" is ticked ON!.
    • Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
    • Click your nickname in big letters in the top middle of the steam client, and select "Inventory".
    • Click the "More" button and select "View Inventory History"
    • Go to the page where the trade is with the person that scammed you (if not on latest).
    • Click on their name in bright white there. That brings you to the ACTUAL account you traded with.
    • Copy the URL in top left of steam by SELECTING it with the mouse, and right click on it and select "Copy".
    • Go to https://steamrep.com and paste the link in the box.
    • Hit the "Search" button.
    • Copy the blue selected part:

      and paste that here.

Now with THAT you find the REAL account you traded with.

The only thing you can do still is report them to Steam support, which can give them a Valve Trade ban (loses ability to trade) the happy news with that is that they often take all alts of some and do that to them.

As Xeno says above, we have them already marked as warning to other users. A report would add to their offenses, but they would already be hard pressed for a appeal.

I've never been scammed thru steam or anywhere else for that matter - I'm smart enough to take my time and read between the lines and know better.

I got scammed out of an unusual when I was new to TF2 trading. I had spent a few months in game trading and got an unusual and was almost immediately scammed out of it.

A well known user/trader named phrakture scammed me out of 5 buds when he ran on a spycrab (didn't lose anything, obviously, but it was still a scam.

I also got gift wrap scammed like 3 days ago (lol)

You live with it and keep moving on, next time don't be so gullible.

Its often the new ppl to trading that get scammed, they don't know how to verify ppl. They just go with the others, trusting them, and when that trust is betrayed....

I'd even willing to hire someone help me to appeal for steam support, somebody who has successfully trace back his item... I am willing to pay a very high price.:(
