What happened? Description:

I had an Outpost Trade (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/16818279) in which I was selling buds for $36 each. (The buds in that trade are actually 1 of the 2 I sold to him if you check the history.) Proof of the trade below.

He added me and asked to buy two buds. I asked him for his rep, and the weird thing is, he some pretty decent rep at TF2-Trader (http://tf2-trader.com/index.php?topic=26594.0) so I decided he was trustworthy. He went first as requested, and the trade went through fine. About 2 days later, I received an email from Paypal telling me the payment is being held (see in proof). This seemed odd to me, but I went ahead and sent Paypal the information regarding the trade. Then, today, I got another email telling me the payment was reversed (see in proof). I logged into Paypal, and sure enough, the payment was disputed and reversed.​

Unfortunately I don't have the actual agreement in chat, but I think there is enough evidence here to show that he was indeed purchasing the buds for the exact value I posted on my Outpost trade.

He also blocked me after this whole thing happened, which I don't see a reason for unless he didn't want me to get in contact with him.​

I traded with this guy as well. Sadly, I closed the chat window as the chat history are not available, thats all I got here. I hope he is being judged, appreciated!

This guy is using stolen PayPal's. I have a chargeback of $370 cause of him. Hopefully,PayPal will resolve this.

Yeah it just occurred to me how recent all of his rep was. What really hit home was someone else commented on one of his Outpost trades asking why he was charged back. I pretty much knew then I was in for it. :/

The problem is that this isn't his main account and he is deffinetly a russian. He does have 2 big russian traders that can be his main accounts.

Since he's using a stolen Paypal account, will Paypal make any action to help the people he scammed? Or does it still fall into the category of virtual goods that don't have buyer's insurance?

I looked over the profiles and I noticed that many of the buds that went to Twilight then went to this guy. Of course this isn't conclusive, but it seems suspicious, especially since others on this thread have claimed Twilight is Russian.

All of the buds in these trades went directly from Twilight to the second guy, and the account's BP has nothing but pure. It appears he's scamming the buds, sending them to the second (more reputable account), and selling those legitimately through Paypal.

At least one good news for me. The chargeback was declined and I'm ok with my money (phew)

I'm not saying for sure that you're in charge of these accounts, but I've had 4 different people who added me over the last few days looking to buy buds and all of them have had you on their friends list. And none of them have any rep. It just seems a little suspicious.

hm, yea, u right, this is not looking good, but i have 400+ friends, and some of them use 2 (or more) accs, hard to say which of them are scammers. ok, still can give screens any time u want.

Unfortunately, as this was 4 years ago now, I don't have any of the evidence (chatlog, screenshots, etc.). I can try to find the transaction in my PayPal history if that's worth getting, but I'm guessing without any trade agreement evidence there's not much you can do with this.
