    Description:
Was playing with my friend Bella when she asked me why I wanted to trade / whether I was actually trading with her at the time after the bizarre chat.

Turns out someone was impersonating me and had gone so far as to find out my real name (I sourced out where he could have found it from) and even say that inside the chat to convince them it was me. Used the same profile name / image also, and sent the trade in-game.

Thankfully nothing was traded or lost.

Even as I write the report, they're impersonating multiple people, going from friends list to friends list it seems.

Bizarre incident for sure, didn't expect the first time someone impersonated me to be in such a direct and premeditated fashion.

Transcript of the visible chat is here, the trader closed the chat after confronted:
    Code:
    Meepsauce: Hey Honey
    Meepsauce: Its Luke
    bella: >//<
Meepsauce: can you give me Bonnet for a minute?
Meepsauce: i show it to one mate
    Meepsauce: any Glengarry Bonnet
Meepsauce: he want to buy it
    Meepsauce: honey?
    Bella: hold on
Bella adds all 3 of the bonnets she owns
    Meepsauce: i want gray one
    Bella: stop impersonating you f✿✿✿wit

So sorry for the strong language that I have used earlier... I have just added my impersonator and here's a screenshot of our chat:

Won't make another post, I'm also being impersonated as you can see from the above screenshot.

Hope this gets sorted out soon. The guys joining people in-game and then sending them trade requests, this way he doesn't have to add them.

Yeah, I only noticed it wasn't Trec because the impersonator hadn't changed the profile picture to match Trec's.

I'd like to add that he had two accounts added to his friends list, both are russian.

These friends are now removed from the scammer account, but can be seen in my screenshot of him impersonating.

This account currently has the scammed items, including the unusual.

    customURL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/320pwnage
    steamrepURL: http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198044252250

These were transferred periodically after scams, more than one trade happened.

There was also this account on the list, which shares the same profile picture as the scammer right now:
    steamID: diovishe
    steamID32: STEAM_0:0:22908607
    steamID64: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198006082942

Not sure on the Diovishe account, makes me wish I'd check when those accounts were added as friends, but the 320pwnage account seems very accurate for a scammer alt.

Diovishe has a TF2R caution on his rep, in which he 'raffled' an unusual and openly admits he wasn't going to trade it and 'waits for his ban'.
