What happened? Description:

I am a previous tf2shop.net seller, the site is pretty popular but as a quick run down if you didn't know what it is though i'm sure you do, the site has various sellers that can list their items to the site, this is done by trading a bot. Once the item is traded the seller can then list their price via a control panel and once the item sells the seller gets credited 85% of the sale and the owner penquin gets 15% of the sale (percentages may differ from seller to seller). The credited payment generally gets paid to the seller once a month.

From time to time (way to often) the store fails at the part where the bot has taken the items but the store hasn't listed the items. In this case the seller needs to fill out a error report outlining the lost items and what money is owed to them, penquin or who ever he assigns to it is then meant to review the report and then pay the seller the owing funds. This is where my issue is.

I've had failed uploads owing to me from October last year. With a value of $430ish owing. I've spoken to penguin many many times and for the most part he ignores me and when he does respond it's because i've told him that I will be looking to report this to steamrep. He then goes on to tell me that he will get it sorted soon but nothing has happened, he still owes me and many other sellers error related money (plenty evidence in the tf2-shop sellers forum)

What has really upset me is that i've tried to be very civil and tried my very best to get this resolved as quietly as possible. I have msg'd penquin multiple times to handle it, i've cut ties with the shop and have asked penquin to pay me what's owing but instead he chooses to play cs go all day and not action these owing funds / return the items. I have msg'd a steamrep admin who i will also not name who was aware of the issue (they are a tf2-shop seller and can see the issue 1st hand) and I was told since they are a seller they can't do anything since it's a conflict of interest. I will like to think that if you are a representative on behalf of the community that those duties should lie in front of any other tf2 related duties.

I've saved the images in the case they get removed from the tf2shop.net servers.

Items traded to the bot which had errors and still remain in the store / forum post these were reported on.​

Posting to acknowledge the fact that this thread and concern exists.

The specific uploads belonged to the old system of tracking items which is currently being cleaned up at the moment so that it is usable.
I need a few more specific pieces of information to reattach them properly, here's what our programmer had to say.

Penguin, it's a joke that you think you can justify almost half a year of non payment but saying your system is being cleaned up. I've been messaging you for so long letting you know that there's issues. It's obvious that there's been issues and instead of you closing CS for 20 minutes and checking that in fact the items I uploaded were lost in your system and either manually trading them back to me or paying me for the lost item you choose to ignore me instead.

I don't think anyone should be big enough in this community to be able to justify not paying someone for almost half a year, it's a joke that you think you can.

And don't think for a second you rep has given me any confidence of this being resolved, the way you have ignored me it has made me feel like you have just hoped I would disappear in which my items would have just reverted to you.

The same SteamRep rules should apply to everyone.

I'll also like to request that the SR Admin that told me this was a conflict not handle this case. I think it's only fair. Thanks.

To add this this you had 2 requirements you asked for when reporting errors. 1. was a screenshot of the issue. 2. was a list of the items and the values which i spent roughly 3 hours putting together. If your lazy enough to correct your own issues, so be it.

I'm not gonna waste my time with the 1st upload, the $420 i calculated was for the 2nd upload which you have made errors in calculating yourself.

The 1st upload from memory was a bunch of craft hats and I'm not going to waste hours trying to find it, to recoup a couple craft hats....if you don't want to pay me those so be it, just ignore it and pay me the 2nd fail upload.

Current CPanel, not listing all items not sold.

This issue has been playing on my head all night so I thought I'll rant vent here in hopes I can get s✿✿✿ off my chest and get some sleep.

First and for most this is not an issue about money for me, if it was I would have kept my mouth shut and just used the store to inflate my items and re coupe the costs, instead I chose to put my neck out there and end my ties with the store and cop what ever backlash comes from that. I understand that when there's automated bots that there are also unavoidable errors, but I also understand that it shouldn't take 6 months and a steamrep report to then decide to start looking into it and when you do decide to look at it it's a half assed attempt which highlights even more the store failings.

What also is pissing me off is that items were sold without my permission at a price that suited the store, I never agreed that in case of store failure that my items will then be listed and sold without my knowledge. How is that my items can fail to be updated into my control panel but then be assigned to Penguins selling account and then sold, it should have stayed in a state of limbo until it was then reattached to me.

I'm pretty calm but as you can see I've reached a breaking point, which started with me following store procedure and listing the errors in the thread, waiting for a reply that never came in which i pm'd the store owner who just ignored my messages for months, while he was selling my items for his prices in the background without my knowledge or approval. The only replies came after i threatened to post this on steamrep in which I first got a I'll look into it, then a your not a big seller thus not a priority and then a do what you want. It wasn't that hard to just sort this out 1st up and avoid all this, I went through the hassle of typing out each of the items and checking their values on backpack.tf, there wasn't much required on Penquins part from there.

What also gets to me is how after all these issues Penquin is posting in this steamrep report still trying to make up his own rules, demanding I send him a list when he can see it and easily get it himself. The owness shouldn't be on me to be digging through 6 months of trades. Everything that is required on my part is in this thread, I don't care about the 1st failed upload, you can keep the money you made off selling those items, just pay me what is owing for the failed 2nd upload and lets be done with it.

The script is there for you to review, and you're free to audit the relevant parts of the site's code yourself if you'd like, contrary to what you believe, no one is here programming backdoors into the site so I can "take" your max head and pretend it didn't happen. Add up the numbers if you don't trust it and tell me if there's anything else I need to change. The max head in question was a duplicate and the IDs overlapped with another max head.

The Bunsen Brave was listed at $61 on backpack.tf, three months before you uploaded it, and you were aware that all items default to +20% of backpack.tf price.

Your still being difficult after all this to save yourself less than $40. You must really feel your above the law, happy to drag this out, when your wrong doings are evident.

I'm not going to count them 1 by 1, can you see how your report could make me think items were missed when it didn't report correctly. There's holes all over that report, I can't be bothered reviewing it extra detail but as another example.

2 Dark Salmons sold, where are the other 8? they aren't in my CPanel, i'm pretty sure they aren't dupes as i unbox most of the paints I upload.

We both know (most sellers know)... that items are chewed up daily, a lot of them missed by the seller because it wasn't the full upload that failed but a couple individual items.... there's threads discussing this.....You knowing this you are left with 2 options:

1. Leave the item in limbo and wait for the item to be reattached to the correct seller

Or

2. Default those failed items to yourself and bank in extra funds on the items that were missed by the seller, for items that are reported on you'll pay them in what ever long time frame suits you and if the item isn't reported then you take those sales to the bank.

I'm not happy with $383.33, I've made my calculations clear, you've presented your dodgie reporting. Please pay me $420.

I tried to message Penquin to try and resolve, he asked to keep discussions here, I asked him to reply to the thread... he hasn't.

It looks like we have reached a point where we both disagree on what is being owed and neither is happy to budge.

Mattie are you able to provide some feedback into how this should be resolved?

My case for my owing funds is that I have manually typed in the values of the failed uploads of their values at the time and that is the price I came up, I had a 3 bud offer on the Bunsen at the time and there is no way I would have sold it for the price that Penquin sold it for.

- Penquin's case for what he owes me is a report which has multiple issues, I've pointed out a couple in this thread. I don't see how he can justify that he only owes me so much by putting forward a report with errors.

Something else I would like to note is that at the end of Penquins report he states that the items that sold would have given seller $273.335775, in this case Penquin was the seller in which he got the extra 15%

Unless Penquin can list each individual price from the time that the items failed to upload, he should payout what was listed in the original report. If he had concerns with the values he should have voiced those concerns then. To say no many months later and reason it by presenting a dodgie report shouldn't be good enough.

So Penquin has been online and ignoring my messages, I have agreed to accept his terms in order to resolve this quicker but he seems to be refusing to want to pay me. I'm not sure if you've been checking Mattie but I feel at least a caution tag is deserved until he stops being lazy and resolves this.
