What happened? Description:

I met this person through Outpost. I was sifting through backpack.tf looking for a nice heavy hat, and saw the new hat, the Minnesota Slick. I saw the Blizzardy Storm effect and followed that link to Outpost. Saw this guy selling it, added him, then I went afk for about 2 hours. When I returned, I told him I wanted to offer on his hat, but he told me he got scammed. I basically just tracked down its owner using Outpost item history since he unboxed it a few hours ago only and there was no data of it on backpack.tf yet.

I understand that the victim is supposed to report for himself, but the problem is he doesn't know how to use SteamRep and honestly it's pointless to have to teach him what to type when I can just do it. I believe the case here is against the scammer, and not frivolous things like who the reporter is.

The accusation is towards Chokollis. He has long been known to have engaged in suspicious trading, having quicksells all the time. He was BANNED from backpack.tf for a while when there was clear evidence pointing towards his shady dealings, but that ban has since expired.

The evidence is all in the screenshots. There are two other parties involved in this, and there is without a doubt to assume that Chokollis is essentially all three parties involved in scamming this poor fella who got lucky on his 3rd crate. The fake Reddit middleman is already marked on SteamRep, whereas Swoleji (http://steamrep.com/search?q=76561198116903347) is yet to be marked. With literally 0.6 hours on TF2, there is simply no way that Chokollis bought it off legitly from Swoleji. Swoleji has NO items in his backpack, indicating clearly his role as a multi to avoid Chokollis from doing the dirty work himself. The hat is currently not on the market, but trust me, it's going on soon. Just waiting for the tide to calm first.

Once again, I hope that the identity of the reporter is not an issue.​

The next 3 screenshots show his chat with me, not sure how much use there will be but just to clarify my role in this case.

To clarify, the scam was a Paypal money scam, where Swoleji told kazz that he would pay kazz in Paypal for the Minnesota Slick hat. They used a fake middleman, where Swoleji linked the real reddit middleman's SteamRep and had the fake one invited into the chat. Once kazz transferred the hat to the supposed Mad-Matt, they unfriended him and left.

Hi Chokollis,

I do admit I was rather rash in posting this report directly, implicating you in this scam. However, it is clear and your own words have shown that, even if you did not participate in the scam, you were aware of the hat's origins. Quoting your words, "his outpost was clean , so i bought it & i am buying alot of stuff everyday ", it is apparent that you, as an established trader handling numerous unusuals and quickselling almost all of them for dubious reasons, should and would have looked up the history of the item. Even so, the alleged seller, "Swolejj" had LITERALLY 3 TRADES open on Outpost, and you're telling me that you managed to add him and trade with him without looking at his profile? His profile shows 0.6 hours, how legit is that?

I'm aware that this constitutes as lying to staff (aka ban) on Outpost.

Chokollis...first of all I am not the victim in this trade.

Second of all..stop digging your own grave. Admins, feel free to disprove me, but look at the link that Chokollis just posted above ^. Ctrl-f Swolejj, and you find two Swolejj results. Both of these are the sub accounts of Swolejj. Chokollis has and IS engaging in dealing with scammed hats, being the MN snaggletooth and the DBD Marauder. Check the backpack histories of first owners and you find nothing substantial there that indicates a fair trade with Swolejj.

I would like to apologise to you for wrongly accusing you of Paypal scamming.
