    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Misrepresenting virtual items
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198096029189 ()

    Victim profile: 76561198007474191

    What happened? Description:
User "vRamen" added me and attempted to deceive me to obtain my items.

I was randomly contacted by vRamen on 13/07/2014. The user initially attempted to beg "do u still want ur stuff", I had a bad feeling about the way he approached me and so asked him how the items were valued, he deliberately avoided telling me at first.

I asked him how much my unusuals were (which he expressed interest in) he claimed "keys".

I noticed he had a Glasgow Great Helm #5 in his backpack and expressed an interest in it, he said he'd trade it for hats "the purple ones". I jokingly put a link to a gibus which he disagreed to. I then linked my Modest Pile of Hats (Cloudy Moon) and Anger (Secret Moon).

He attempted to claim it was equivalent to my modest or my hiveminder (something burning this way comes).

He also attempted too mislead me by claiming his Glasgow Great Helm #5 was worth a "few buds" which is not simply a boast or highball, the item's value was greatly exaggerated with an attempt to mislead me. Had I been genuinely clueless he would have had no quandary with deceiving me of my items. He cannot claim ignorance as he was at one point an active trader and perfectly well knew how much his items were worth in comparison to mine.

    Provide Evidence:
The attempted deception is detailed above and screenshots will be given below.

All content relevant to the report can be seen in the below screenshot which clearly show the lies about value and attempt to mislead a seemingly clueless player.

The last screenshot just shows that he was at one point an active trader and knew relative values of items. Had this been a simple attempt to highball his hat a couple of keys I'd have no issue but he attempted to suggest the value was close to 50 fold its real value.

    From http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/sharking-is-it-right-or-wrong.64796/

The issue is not with the attempt to shark here, the issue I have with this user is the fraudulent nature of his attempt to scam. Sharking itself, I understand, is not something steamrep can fairly concern itself with.

My issue here is with the deliberate attempt to defraud me. I do not care about the value disparity.
