    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561197981090502 ()

    Victim profile: 76561198007474191

    What happened? Description:
I was contacted by ".:EGOR:." who was wishing to sell a quicksale. I missed his first contact, later he offered me his buds for 27 USD per. I assume he found me via outpost.

I was happy to pay at this rate as this is the usual rate I've been purchasing at. His account initially looked somewhat suspicious however I searched the history of all of his items and found no issue. Nor could I find issue with his profile itself. I checked for any previous issues involving his email and no one has reported any issue with him.

The account had a low number of hours however he had a reasonable number of games and he appeared to simply be attempting to cash into a new trading environment, something many of my friends have also done.

I sent him payment (135.00 USD) via paypal, which he requested to be sent to him as a regular user rather than as a gift. I have no issue with payment that takes place in this format due to tax laws surrounding capital gains in countries varying. As the user claimed he was from Israel I did not think this was suspicious. While checking the trustworthiness of his account he repeatedly attempted to trade me the items, I chose to not be hurried and was happy to go first (although no discussion had taken place about who should go first). He was willing to pay any fees that may result from it being a regular transaction rather than a friends/family transaction.

Upon payment he tried several times to trade me the items but never clicked the second accept. I then told him to contact http://steamcommunity.com/id/Hitofosheeto/ to trade him the items as I happily trust this user.

.:EGOR:. then offered to refund, which I agreed to and said that we could do the transaction once again however that time he would go first.

He then logged off with me not receiving my items. The payment has been disputed and I have contacted my bank so I will suffer no financial loss, however I want this on the record so no other users are scammed.

I then contacted the user who now owns the earbuds, http://steamcommunity.com/id/davee_/

Who I initially believed could be an alt account of .:EGOR:. although it appears that Dave paid EGOR the sum of 140.00 USD for the earbuds I had already paid 135.00 USD for. Strangely Dave knew that I had been sent a different email by EGOR to the one he used without access to anything that may suggest that.

    Provide Evidence:
The scenario is described above in detail, below I'll link the necessary screenshots.

The evidence can be found below, screenshots only crop out my account name, and banking details; the accused's profile is visible with all screenshots.

    First image contains the agreement.

Second screenshot contains his offer to refund.

Third contains paypal payment and the agreement is found at the bottom.

Fourth contains my trade history as you can see my last completed trade is on the 5th of July

Fifth is the payment that Dave gave me a screenshot of showing a different email address

Sixth is what Dave sent me when I asked for the screenshot of his trade with EGOR

The very last image just contains proof that Dave sent me the 6th screenshot as it contains no identifying features.

One of the earbuds in question can be seen here: http://www.tf2outpost.com/item/440,2770856892,143,6
