What happened? Description:

Tried to get me to click a strange URL saying someone wanted to trade with me but couldn't add me. I have no idea who this person is and have not met them before this encounter.​

This looks to be a phishing bot, not an actual human. You should probably just report them through their profile, since SR has changed their policy regarding phishing. See here: http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/notice-changes-to-investigation-policy.47952/

Please close this if reporting the user via Steam is the more appropriate option.

Unforunately many people seem to find that reporting it via Steam to Valve doesn't do anything, or doesn't do it quick enough to matter.

It's more complicated but the most effective thing to do is point #9 here:
