    Just wondering in a case like this would he have to add $9 to get Tier 1 or have to donate $10 for it?

    actually, he would have to donate 11,- as Tier 1 donatorship is at 12,-. He then ofcourse would have to alert Mattie to this to let him manually set the donator tier.
