What happened? Description:

So I was looking to sell one of my CSGO items, a '★ Gut Knife', and a potential buyer added me.

The buyer asked if I'd like to use a middleman, after explaining just what a middleman was, I accepted. After a short while he said he got in contact with '☆Penguin The Fluffy', a middleman listed on "http://steamrep.com/list/M" (a reputable source for middlemen).

So a group chat formed with the buyer, middleman and I. After some talk and seemingly legitimate formalities, a price of US$60 was settled on and I traded my item to the middleman.

The buyer then asked if I had any other items for sale, and after some talk he agreed to buy the rest of my CSGO items and also all of my TF2 items for a total of US$260 (including the price of the '★ Gut Knife').

So a second trade occurred in which I gave all my CSGO and TF2 items to the middleman. Then suddenly, isolation.

Once the trade was complete I was quickly kicked from the group chat and removed from the buyers friend list. All contact had been shut off, as I soon realize the terrible fate of my life's worth of items.

The middleman, seemingly from 'http://steamrep.com/list/M' was in fact an imposter posing as one of the middlemen listed on the site; and quickly changed his name after the scam had taken place.
