    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198030578537

    Victim profile: 76561198013163993

    What happened? Description:
He bought 45 TF2 Keys using paypal and he went first. He initially overpaid. After the transaction was concluded I became suspicious of the Paypal account he used. Upon research I found that the account belonged to a 58-year old lady from Ohio. Deeeex is not American or a native English speaker. Becoming uncomfortable, I requested a trade back. At this point he became defensive and hostile as seen in the chat log. He said that the account was "His client's mothers account." (Red flag!) Unfortunately I didn't catch all of it where he wanted to offer me $1000s more to help rake in more keys using me as a proxy due to my reputation on steamtrades. When I told him I reported him to Steam and Paypal, he threatened to use 20 accounts everyday to report me and told me good luck with trying to get my keys back.

I demanded my keys back, at which point he said he would give me the keys back and I could just keep whatever money he sent me if I would find other bulk key sellers using me as a reputation proxy and also said he would give me tons more money if I could find sellers.

He referenced random "item trade/sale" sites as being associated with them reassuring us about his trustworthiness. I found various posts where he referenced different ones.

Moments after the transaction. A backpack.tf admin "Polar" contacted me on an unrelated incident where he attempted to scam another user who also has recorded the conversation here: http://backpack.tf/trust/76561198030578537

I reversed the transaction since I am certain it is a hijacked Paypal account and a chargeback is inevitable with a $20 fine slapped on top.

He still has my keys and I have nothing. So it was either I reverse the stolen money, or take the chance it gets charged back on top of a $20 Paypal fine when it happens. Getting doubly screwed.

Another user "GeRY" who sold him a few hundred keys (and his friends) are now suspecting the same. He said he paid using hush.com email addresses and gave him the same line about it being "his client's Paypal."

Since this posting, the transaction has been reversed and he has yet to return the keys or attempt to make good on this fraudulent deal.

    Provide Evidence:
    Partial chat logs
Paypal transaction not matching user (incorrect amount) and me refunding due to suspicion.
The negative feedback left in retaliation proving further the exchange occurred.

I am the mentioned individual "GeRy".
As of now all of this is just a highly suspicious case on my case as nothing wrong actually happened to me just yet.
I sold him keys in three different but in time close occasions.
I received money from three different paypal accounts, all of them were from the "hush.com".
After searching for the names I have found two clear result on facebook, both are living in the US.
I am able to support all of my claims if necessary and/or have any importance or help in proceeding of this investigation.

Here are addresses he has sent from so far from that i collected from other victims. Note the email addresses. "exyxe" in the hotmail ones.
The next 3 are from hush mail and use similar naming conventions. To this date we know he has used 5-6 different accounts to send from.

    Hi Sjru.
Attached is the trade history as requested. Please see post #1 to see the trade from the "Sent Offer History" as well. (trade.jpg)

Also, as stated in the original report, there was no opportunity for him to do a "chargeback" as I reversed the transaction after figuring out that the trader in question was not the same person as the Paypal account. See attachment (transaction.jpg) on the original accusation.

I did inform him of this transaction reversal and gave him ample opportunity to make good (reverse) this trade. I was only met with further silence.

I am in active contact with several other sellers (Thus the list of emails above) and we all realized he had used several other accounts with suspicious naming patterns that match one another. Delving further into the Paypal account user, I found that the persons account used was a widowed-lady from Ohio, USA. (Deeeex is not American.) When confronted with this information some time after the trade concluded, he said "Maybe you didn't consider the possibility that it could be the mother of his client." and to "prove it" when I said it was likely stolen. This is all captured in the chat logs above along with his hostilities.
